Yesterday, while waiting for a bus at the bus stop, saw this girl about 3-4 year old whining non-stop. The mother basically ignored her but her whining was really getting on my nerves. So I walked closer and gave her my very well practised fiery darts look, which stopped her whining immediately. The moment I walked away, she started again. Once again, I walked over and gave her the look. She shut up and pretended that she didn't see me.
Unfortunately, she and her mom boarded the same bus. The thought of hearing her whine throughout the bus trip compelled me to choose a seat right next to her and gave her the Robert de Niro rendering of 'I am watching you' look. That probably kept her quiet throughout the bus trip.
She and her mom alighted before us and it was obvious that she was trying not to look at me. Her mom was oblivious to the whole thing and I wonder if she ever wondered how come her daughter stopped whining.
