Happy Hallowe'en

Happy Hallowe'en, to any of you who celebrate it in some way! I have a fondness for Hallowe'en, for some reason. Germany doesn't really have much of a tradition of it, so I'm not sure if I'll get any trick-or-treaters or not, but I have some sweeties in a bowl just in case, and if not, well, I'm sure they won't go to waste. *coughs* Maybe later on ( Read more... )

Lol! I doubt you could put anyone off from visiting you. :D *hugs* (Especially with TWO balconies! I may be biased there, however. :P)

Aww, yummy. Plenty of snacks to hide at home and work, then? :D We didn't get any trick-or-treaters either, sadly. Then again, someone at work has the same problem, too: no trick-or-treaters, so sweeties that need eating up. :D

Thank you! :) I wish I could take the credit for it of course, lol, but I'm really glad I found it (aleurier, who posted in pinacotheque, if I've got that right)! And no worries -- I know you're busy, especially now that NaNoWriMo has started. :) How's that going so far, btw??

Oh! I did. :D I cut up a piece of paper at work and attempted the pumpkin. I did try a few of the basic folds first, but then I got confused with things like the squash fold, lol. Anyway, the pumpkin was so close to right! :D I think I mucked up the squash fold in the middle, though -- when I tried to pop it out into the 3D shape at the end, I almost tore the top and bottom points somehow. I ended up with a very skinny pumpkin that kind of deflated if I tried to leave it to stand on its own. *bashful* Ah well. When I have time this weekend, I'm going to try and badger someone into helping me decipher the pictures so that I can get a proper pumpkin. :D And if I do manage to take pictures of my attempts, I'll include the skinny-pumpkin, too. ;)

Hee, thanks for the vote of confidence, my dear! *hugs*

Nano went pretty badly the first week, to be honest - I should have done more plotting in advance. About five o'clock yesterday evening I suddenly realised how the first 8 thousand words should have gone, so... I started over, ahahahha. OOPS. That is not in the spirit of Nano, but reckless disregard for deadlines is, so what the hell. I did then manage to get back up to five thousand words on my new version last night, so I feel that bodes much better for this week, assuming I can find time to write!

Woooo, go you for the pumpkin! It sounds like it turned out pretty well to me! Origami's one of those things that is really easy right up to the point where it's suddenly next to impossible, hahaha. So long as you had fun, though! :D

Lol! I thought that was typical for NaNoWriMo? ;) I'm really glad you managed to get back up to 5000 words, though, and I really hope you find enough time to write more! Are you still really busy with work, and life in general, at the minute? Will you be posting anything about the plot at all btw, or will you just do fly-by posts to vent your frustrations every now and then about the writing in general, without giving anything away? :D

Definitely my best attempt at origami, ever! Not that that's saying much, admittedly. :D I was feeling relatively confident when I first opened the book, but when I started reading the basic folds any confidence vanished completely, lol. It is fun, though. :) I wish I'd found time to try again this weekend. :( Christmas shopping came calling, unfortunately. :P

*huggles* Thanks, my dear! Heee, yes, it probably is typical for Nano. I think I'm probably unlikely to be posting about the plot, mostly because I just haven't been able to find time to write recently due to work being crazy and the Archive going into open beta and so on. Hopefully I'll have better luck writing in the evenings this week...

And woooo, go you! Hahaha, yes, the folds are tricksome like whoa. Christmas shopping is very tiring, but go you for being so organised! I have only just started mine, I must admit. :D
