Summary: Kyuhyun never thought 'love' was supposed to be easy.

He'd always been curious about it, actually - not as though he would ever admit it. Watching the four seasons pass, every time, there was some form of 'love' present. It was sometimes impossible to miss, or even such a subtle detail, you would need to settle your eyes upon it for at least a few seconds. Couples: holding hands in the snow, sharing umbrellas in the rain, with piggyback rides on a day of laughter, strolling over crunching leaves.

In a way, he missed it. But that was impossible.

You can't miss what you never had.

By the time the class had been excused for lunch, Sungmin's incident had fallen to the very back corners of everyone's minds - as expected. The sky had also darkened to a warning grey, threatening to rain any moment now. Also expected.

Kyuhyun glared at the shaded ground, the translucent clouds stealing light and warmth.  It wasn't like he was complaining, though - He just found it slightly inconvenient the school hadn't switched to thicker material for the First Semester's uniform. The day he received the garb, he'd compared and found this flaw. The jumper and blazer seemed just as thin.

Another thing that was a bother was having to find a new place to eat. When he first joined the school, he had maintained a fair distance from all others in his class, only coming so near as necessary. Two weeks ago, he managed to locate a quiet spot behind one of the class buildings under a tree for lunch. It was satisfying. A cool breeze, nice light; his favorite part of it was how he was alone.

Not for long, however.

The startling clamor of others neared the building's corner, just when Kyuhyun had completely forgot about the co-existence. After all, when there was him and only him, no one could even cross his mind. Leaning up from where he sat on the grass, pressed against the wall, he concluded the sound was only coming from a small number of people - perhaps four at most?

When the footsteps paused, Kyuhyun froze and tilted his ear ever so slightly... before realizing --

'No, Kyuhyun, eavesdropping is for seedy, lowly people,' His eyebrows furrowed as he began to rationalize.

Even though he would admit he's not an angel.

"Bye, Hyung," bid one of the voices quietly. The speaker, he assumed, retreated soon after.

Leaving - supposedly - one other person.

Kyuhyun pushed himself off the ground, preparing to slip away in silence - until again he argued against himself.

'This is your spot, and you're eating here. He doesn't talk to you, you don't talk to him - everything's fine. So just sit ba-'

"Oh, hey," interrupted his thoughts momentarily.

Looking down at Kyuhyun was a boy from his class: The one who sat right in front of him, even. He'd barely seen his face before, but he did recognize the way his shirt collar stuck out, untucked and left to flop over his blazer. How could he miss it when every time his eyes pulled back from the board, it stared him in the face?

"D'ya remember me?" inquired the stranger. He threw a hand to the back of his head, lazily combing through his hair, which seemed to be a tad darker than Kyuhyun's own - even while Kyuhyun sat in a shadow.

Silence filled in as Kyuhyun's answer became forgotten - until the boy pulled his hand back down to his side, a nervous look flickering. "Um...?"

"Oh," Kyuhyun mumbled dumbly, stuck in a semi-crouch from when he was standing up. He wasn't quite sure what move to make next - Why sit down if that guy probably would, too?

But then again Kyuhyun was in the shorter position. It made him feel small.

He sprouted up, keeping his back straight as possible, not planning on letting this random stranger look down upon him - in both meanings of the phrase. "Yeah, I do. From my class." After the fact he supposed making it a sweet question might have served as a nicer impression, but why should he ask a question when he already knew the answer? Especially if after that this guy would end up explaining. Leading to talking, and more talking, and Kyuhyun having to listen, until he came up with an emergency excuse to leave. Too bad he hadn't any familiarity with the school so far; he would've been able to make one up on the spot.

"Ah, cool!" The brunette smiled brightly. "I didn't really expect you to remember - lot of faces, and, y'know, where we are, you only getta see the backs of heads." he chuckled. "I'm Lee Donghae," he finished, with an excited blink.

Kyuhyun nodded his head, just to signal he understood. "Cho Kyuhyun,"

Donghae shot another small grin in approval. "Hi, Kyuhyun. Were you finished eating...?" During the question Donghae's eyes had flipped down at the store-bought lunchbox Kyuhyun held in hand, obviously knowing the answer.

'He must really like you, or is like this with everyone,' he suspected. Maybe he does this with all the new kids - gets on their good side (Not like Donghae was already on Kyuhyun's good side! There was still something fishy about him.), and dunks their head in a toilet. Then he totally abandons them without a care. "No..."

"Hah, great. Mind if I eat with you?" Kyuhyun shrugged and slid back down to the grass, Donghae following suit. Lunch afterwards went along, to Kyuhyun's surprise, rather smoothly. The talking never died to an awkward silence - which was impressive in Kyuhyun's opinion. Usually if he had nothing to say after a comment, no one said anything after - Basically, Kyuhyun decided the end of the conversation. Donghae had even succeeded in pulling out some laughs and snickers from the new kid.

He learned that he and Donghae shared numerous interests and tastes, which shocked him even more. Donghae didn't really seem the type to enjoy singing... But again, in Donghae's defense, nor did Kyuhyun. It wasn't until close to the lunch break's end Donghae came clean.

"Um, this might sound weird, but I only came here 'cause someone said you looked kinda lonely - right? And I thought you weren't having a very good first day and all." He hopped up to his feet, brushing any loose dirt from his pants. "And I was actually pretty scared you wouldn't like me." He paused, letting out a nervous titter before offering a hand down. "But, hey! Turns out you're an awesome guy who isn't afraid of company~ I think." He quirked an eyebrow in question, an innocent simper plastered on his face.

Kyuhyun took the hand and hoisted himself up with a light smirk. "I don't need your pity, or any other's. 'Watch the sad new kid from afar;' oh, boo." He laughed. "But... Yeah, sure. Your company's not half-bad."

And thus Kyuhyun became acquainted with Lee Donghae, the Dancing Fish.

A/N: Continuing installment as promised! :D Yeah you don't see a 'fishy' pun there. Not at all. xD So, yeah. This chapter wasn't read over by any of my friends, so 'un-beta'd.' The Kyuhyun-Donghae relationship bit was a lot longer than I expected it to be... @w@ Hope it's not more boring than the first part...!

And I really love your comments. They make me excited every time I see a new message in my inbox, hoping it's a nice word of support... :'D Thank you again, to those who read the previous chapter. <3

ALSO IMPORTANT: I changed Kyuhyun from transferring two months ago into two weeks ago. Just in case any of you caught that; hope I cleared up any mistakes in continuity... and I also hope that was the only one. o-o;;

I LEAVE REALLY LONG AUTHOR NOTES. Good night. /hops to bed.
