Speaking from the southeast's perspective, I've heard a lot of black people say they aren't voting for Obama because he's Muslim, so they're voting for Hillary. I know a lot of white people who are voting for Obama because they don't trust the Republicans and they don't want another Clinton in the office.

I'm putting on my sappy face now.

It's a great day in Birmingham, AL, because a lot of us are out voting when we normally don't bother because we're so sick of how things are and we're all wanting change.

It's America at its finest, and it goes to show we're not all completely brain-dead.

Damn - I forgot about the whole "Muslim background" thing - that's sure to affect the voting even if it is a bunch of tosh! There was a report in one of our papers about the importance of religion in voting in the states... which seems strange to the average Brit as religion and politics are kept relatively separate.

I'm disgusted at the levels of voter turnout here... we're lucky to get 40% of the electorate off their arses! To think there are countries in the world where people risk death to vote and they get bigger turn outs than we do. :(

Yeah, even though we have the whole "Separation of Church and State" thing going for us, it doesn't really apply anymore. I think the only rights we have right now is the right to bear arms, and...oh, we can't hoard British soldiers...and there may be something else lurking around that we can do without the almighty Christ Brigade coming to get us and take us away.

The whole world is pissing me off at the moment.

Go to one muslim school when you're overseas and suddenly you're a muslim. Like that's a bad thing.

Only 60% of voters in Alabama went for Bush last time around. It's hardly 90% like they make out in the northeast.
