Nobodies can't love. If Axel has learned anything from his time in the Organization, he's certainly learned that.
Nobodies can't care. Axel knows it every moment, he's not likely to forget. Except maybe when Roxas is around.
Nobodies can't have friends. Axel accepts this even as he seeks out the blond's company time and again.
Nobodies can't regret. Axel tells himself this to distract from the unease that floods through him when Roxas innocently asks if the redhead knows why he has the Keyblades.
Nobodies can't feel. Axel has to remind himself a lot these days, especially when he and Roxas are behind closed doors together.
Nobodies can't be whole. Axel finds it hard to remember when he takes Roxas out, treating him to sea-salt ice cream as a reward for a successful mission.
Nobodies can't be happy. Axel watches Roxas's bright smile and knows this.
But he thanks whatever deity is smiling down upon him that he can at least be content.
