[backdated entry - Invasion of Chocobo Farm]

Jan 31, 2009 17:09

Who: Sephiroth (sephiroth_san ) and Jenova (motherkn0wsbest )
When: A couple of days after this family bonding - probably early afternoon
Location: Chocobo Farm
Rating: PG-13 (for slightly more than mild violence)
Summary: Having gotten fed up of living scumming it around in the ruins of Midgar with the dust, rubble and lack of necessities for comfortable habitation by anyone's standards, Sephiroth decided that this was the day to relocate. Besides it's not like the Chocobo farm is -that- far away for them after all.

You could almost see the crater-shape that Meteor would have left in Midgar from this height. That is if Holy and the Lifestream hadn't intervened, but the destruction that had left was surely parellel to what would have been left in the wake of Meteor. Hardly seemed like an adequate safety net after all. Sephiroth paused to take in the view from up here and to remind himself that he could just go and find them somewhere else to live and that she'd know where to find him wherever he went to. The large black feathery wing swooped occasionally in a similar fashion to someone treading water, just to hover.

The bag of supplies that he had managed to salvage ran out that morning and he wasn't about to go back into Edge to collect more. Existance in one place all of the time seemed a pretty dire excuse for a life and besides, as Mother had quite-rightly stated, abandoned half-collapsed houses would simply not do. It had taken Sephiroth a couple of days to consider where would be best to relocate to. It was definite that they should be outside of a majorly built up town or city, for security reasons more than anything else. It had eventually dawned on Sephiroth that there was the Chocobo Farm near to that swamp where he had slayed the Midgar Zolom. Or rather where his Mothers body, disguised as himself had slayed it, but since he had been in absolute control of Jenova in that instance it was really him.  Anyway, the Chocobo Farm was adequately out of the way, yet still within a reasonable flying distance of Edge/ Midgar as would be important since lots of their extended family appeared to be living there. There was the small matter of the family that undoubtedly lived there but they wouldn't put up much of a fight.

It wasn't long before Sephiroth ascended alongside the high ridges of mountains along the south side of the Midgar/ Edge sprawl and followed them eastwards. The land here had hardly changed at all, the swamp was still the same dull grey and the yellow dots out on the plains informed Sephiroth that the Chocobo Farm was still operational after all. No matter, he'd picked what he wanted now and he wasn't going to let any amount of wark-wark-ing to get in the way. He landed purposefully in the middle of the front enclosure, startling a couple of the Chocobo's which went hurtling off in random directions away from the intruder to their pen. Masamune was summoned and the warking was silenced, the yellow feathered chocobo just left where they fell.

However the commotion was enough for the farmer and his family to have been alerted and just as the last chocobo fell the front door to the farmhouse flew open and the farmer was stood in the doorway, aiming a loaded rifle in the direction of the enclosure.  By the time the rifle was cocked and ready to fire the farmer paused in what must have been shock at the silver-haired figure which so naturally hopped over the small fence. A shot was fired but it was too late, Sephiroth was already close enough to effectively drive Masamune through the mans lower torso and out of the other side, before unsheathing it from the fleshy sheath and pulling the farmer to the floor in the same movement.

There was a scream from deeper inside the house which caught Sephiroth's attention as he passed the threshold into the farmhouse, the scream was muffled by something and there was the sound of a heavy wooden door closing. It appeared that the rest of the family had for now retreated into the basement.
