What an age we live in.
Two boys, no more than 9 or 10, rode their scooters up to the park and sat side by side on the swings. Lovely, yes?
NO.
They were not moving, save for the breeze pushing them slightly back and forth. Why were they not swinging?
THEY WERE PLAYING THEIR NINTENDO DS. They were sitting on the swings, heads down, hunched over those little machines.
Does no one use the swings for SWINGING ANYMORE? Jesus.
