Summary: Part of the
48 Rules Verse The next morning, Jared feels like he's going to die and the phone won't stop ringing. It rings and rings and rings, stops, and then rings and rings and rings again. Meanwhile Jared has to force back the urge to puke his guts out. Finally, Jared reaches out and swipes at the night stand hoping to shut it the hell up. But he knocks it to the floor instead. Groaning, he leans over and picks it up, reluctantly answering it.
"'Lo?"
"Are you out of your fucking mind?" Jensen screams in his ear.
"Jensen?" Jared asks, confused. First of all, Jensen usually screams at the staff, not at him. Second of all,
Jared is still half in this dream he was having where he was a complete and total jerk to Jensen. Kind of like in real life, Jared's thinking. Since Jensen is so obviously upset. About something.
"I have never been so embarrassed in my life," Jensen says at a slightly more reasonable volume.
"What are you talking about?" Jared mumbles as he sits up and swipes a hand down his face, trying to wake himself up.
"You in that club, singing that song, and then kissing that guy. If you're going to cheat on me, you could at least do it where there aren't cameras," Jensen rages.
"Cheat on you?" That wakes Jared up and makes him angry. "What are you talking about? You cheated on me with your ex-husband!"
"I most certainly did not!" Jensen cries.
"Those pictures were part of the photo shoot, Jared." "What?" Jared swallows hard, feeling like a complete fool and a total idiot.
"Why can't you trust me?" Jensen asks softly.
"Because you're Jensen Ackles," Jared answers, dropping his own voice down.
"What the hell does that mean?!" Jensen demands. "You keep saying shit like that."
"You're Jensen Ackles." Jared clears his throat, telling himself he won't cry, because it's completely ridiculous to cry, even if he's still partially drunk and an idiot who gets overly emotion when it comes to his diva of a boyfriend, fiancé, whatever. "And I'm just a guy."
"Jared," Jensen breathes. "Open the door."
"Huh?"
Jared stumbles out of bed and opens the door to the guest room, because he's never been comfortable sleeping in their big bed alone, to find Jensen standing there. He's disheveled, his eyes bloodshot, his face pale, and he's never looked more beautiful to Jared.
"You're not just a guy," Jensen says throatily. "You were never just a guy. You're the love of my damn life."
Jensen throws his arms around Jared's neck and kisses him, never mind Jared's morning breath. They stumble back toward the bed, not willing to stop touching each other for even a second, wanting to be as close to each other as possible. They don't even get their clothes all the way off, just enough to feel skin against skin where it counts. It's not long before they're both coming like teenagers, too into it to even think about making it last.
It's the best sex Jared's ever had.

After that night, Jared feels better about the whole marrying Jensen Ackles thing. It helps that Jensen is around more often and that the details of the wedding are finally wrapped up. All they have to do is show up and get married. Even if they never did agree on the guest list or a dozen other things. Jared gave up and gave in on a lot, figuring it was the price to pay for marrying a famous person.
Jensen becomes more and more affectionate as their wedding day comes closer. He always wants to be near Jared, cuddling close at night, holding hands at breakfast, kissing him sweetly when he comes home from work. Although he's still a diva, still insists on eating nothing but lettuce, and drives Jared nuts over the cleanliness or lack thereof in the house.
"I think we should fly to Paris early," Jensen says as they're shopping for clothes to wear on their honeymoon. Well, Jensen is shopping for clothes. Jared is functioning as more of a bag holder like always.
"Why's that?" Jared asks as Jensen tosses three pairs of pants into the sales clerk's arms.
"It's going to sound silly," Jensen says, tossing a shirt at the clerk.
Jared gives the clerk a sympathetic look and then adjusts the parcels he's lugging around like a pack mule to prevent his arms from falling asleep.
"I want to revisit the places we went to before we got together," Jensen says with a shy smile.
"I'd love to do that," Jared says softly.
Jensen jumps into Jared's arms, causing him to drop all the bags and nearly knock over the clerk. "You're the best."
"This isn't just shopping getting you horny, is it?" Jared teases.
"Well, that, too," Jensen grins before kissing him.

Before they fly off to Paris, Chad insists on throwing Jared a bachelor party. It's absolute bacchanalia. There are strippers, both male and female, an open bar, and circus performers of all things. Chad also seems to have invited everyone they've ever met. Jared mainly sits at his designated spot at the table and sips at his glass of champagne. He doesn't want lap dances or anything like that, not when he and Jensen are finally in a good place.
It's nice to see his friends having a good time though. Sandy is dancing with Aldis, looking at him like he hung the moon. Lauren and Katie are kissing in the corner. Chad is showing off his new girlfriend, Sophia, to a bunch of guys from the old accounting floor at Morgan's office, including Mike. Tom is doing some stripping of his own much to the appreciation of a twinky little male stripper. The rest of the staff from Cohen-Cassidy is playing some drunken version of Head's Up Seven Up.
Toward the end of the night, someone clasps their hands over Jared's eyes and then slides into his lap. Jared goes to protest but then the hands fall away, revealing Jensen.
"Did someone order a lap dance?" he asks, voice husky.
"No, but I'll take one," Jared laughs.
He rests his hands on Jensen's hips, but Jensen pushes them away, clucking his tongue and waving his finger. "Uh uh, no touching."
Then he starts rolling his hips to the music, swaying and teasing Jared with feather light touches. Jared has a hard time keeping his hands to himself. Jensen smiles at him then leans in and kisses his neck, little, teasing kitten licks that make Jared groan deep in this throat.
"You keep doing that and I'm not going to be able to stop myself," Jared husks.
"Maybe that's the point," Jensen murmurs.
Jared grabs Jensen's hips and then stands up, carrying him out of the room. Everyone cat calling behind them.

"Mmm," Jensen says as he snuggles against Jared in their first class seats on the plane. "I can't believe we're getting married."
Jared links his fingers with Jensen's and then kisses his temple. "Me either. I already got the milk. You're lucky I bought the cow."
"Oh no you didn't," Jensen gasps, looking up, but his eyes are sparkling with laughter.
"You know I don't mean that. Besides," Jared says, leaning in until he can nuzzle Jensen's neck. "Sex with you is so amazing, I plan to have it for years. Years and years and years."
"Even when I'm old and wrinkled?" Jensen asks.
"Yup. We'll be old and wrinkled together and still having hot sex," Jared says.
"I like that," Jensen says around a yawn.
He falls asleep with his head against Jared's shoulder and stays that way for the rest of the flight.

Paris is beautiful, of course, but Jared's seen it before and knowing that the wedding is just a week away, he's more interested in watching Jensen. Jensen's been to Paris multiple times, but Jared knows he's never had much time to explore other than locations for photo shoots, interviews, and movies.
So they do the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elyses, and stroll along the Seine. They have croissants and awful French coffee at little cafes and take picnics in parks with baguettes, ham, and cheese. Jared is amazed that Jensen is eating so much before the wedding, but he supposes that was what the lettuce diet was for since Jensen got a bit too skinny for his liking and now he's rounding out a bit again.
They go out to Versailles, where Jensen made his apology, the event that set them on this path to marriage, and Jensen leads them to a bench right near those same bushes.
"I was afraid you'd blow me off," Jensen confesses, biting his lip.
"I was tempted," Jared admits. "But I liked you despite how crazy you made me."
"You still like me, even after you got to know me better?" Jensen asks.
"I like you even more," Jared answers with a light kiss. "I get to see the real you and the real you is pretty great."
"Yeah, well, you're pretty great, too," Jensen says with a grin.

Of course they go up to Sacre Coeur, where Jensen asked Jared out, in his own way. It's sunset and the city is at their feet, just as beautiful as it was the last time they stood in the same exact spot.
"It's beautiful up here," Jensen says with awe in his voice.
"You didn't notice that before?" Jared asks with a smile.
"No." Jensen turns and gives him a blinding grin. "I only had eyes for you."

The wedding is a complete blur to Jared. All he remembers is seeing Jensen in his white tuxedo for the first time and then kissing him. He's sure it was a beautiful ceremony, but all he can see is Jensen. Jensen is finally his husband and Jared keeps staring at the platinum band glinting off his left ring finger, the one that matches Jared's.
"We're married," Jensen says with giddy awe in his voice on the limo ride to the reception.
"Yeah, yeah we are," Jared grins back.
**
The reception is similarly a blur, at least the first part of it. So many people come up to congratulate them that Jared starts to lose track. But Jensen is there beside him, squeezing his hand and staring up into his eyes with adoration, and that's the most important part of the whole thing.
They eat dinner, a fabulous spread mainly picked out by Tom when Jensen refused to think about food beyond the cake, and Jared didn't want to be responsible if he picked the wrong thing. People clink their glasses and they kiss again and again until Jared's lips feel chapped.
When they cut the cake, Jared doesn't just feed Jensen one piece, but several, forcing him to ingest calories for later. Jared does have plans for their wedding night, after all.
After all of that, Jensen and Jared finally get to have their first dance as a married couple. They had argued about which song to dance to, whether it should be classic or modern, one of Jensen's songs or someone else's, but in the end they go with the song that made them both laugh when the listened to it. The one they danced like teenagers to in their living room: "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," the original Frankie Valli version.
They dance to it just like they did in their living room, complete with spins and laughter. Jared thinks it's a good choice, a good sign of what's to come in their marriage. Craziness and laughter and love, and Jared wouldn't have it any other way.
