Cobra!

I've been doing a little poking around to see some of the actual lore behind the GI Joe/Cobra story. It was mostly a toy seller, but its even pretty solid these days. Perhaps even more so than back in the 80's. Ideologically, Cobra was kind of right on in my opinion as they began as an organization that was against corrupt governments being the puppets of greed mongering corporations. Then they decided that Yosemite Sam was a good basis for Cobra Commander and it pretty well lost all goodness in my book. We've tried Yosemite Sam for the last 8 and look where it got us. Funding-wise, it was also all about pyramid schemes as well, which I have some issues with, so I would totally do it different, but...its enough to sort of make me go hmm.

Some awesome lore back in the 80's cartoons. I wish I would have been just a couple years older to catch it.

Anyway, according to the sites I was looking at, they made a sort odd choice for the GI Joe movie's Cobra Commander. From what they're saying, they want Joseph Gordon Levitt. My first reaction was 'wha-huh?', but the more I think about it, I can actually see it. Just enough crazy and charisma to potentially do a damn good job. And a damn fine actor in my humble opinion.

Anyway, Valium is starting to hit, so back to la-la land. More later I'm certain.
