After hearing the transmission for the interviews, Yuffie had headed straight towards the City Hall. It wasn't just finding something to do, it wasn't just fighting the monsters. It was more than that.

There was no materia to hunt, no Nation needing saving. But the likes of Marlene, ones like Marlene, they needed protecting from these things. And Yuffie wanted to help.

When she was called to enter the office, that she would be seen, Yuffie plastered a grin on her face and went for what was, in all reality, her first ever job interview. "Hello?"

The Regent was seated behind his desk, the presence of the armed guards behind him stationed at the window no accident. Although appearing no older than a human male of forty of so, the Regent somehow seemed to have seen many more years than that.

He waved a hand at the girl in the doorway. "Hi. Come in and have a seat please." Tenting his fingers on the desk, he cocked an eyebrow and began, "So, what's your name?"

Her grin didn't slip, not even as she glanced at the armed guards. The Regent kind of reminded her of Rufus Shinra, only less pompous, maybe. She did as he said, moving to take the seat in front of the desk.

"I'm Yuffie Kisaragi, from Gaia. Do you know where that is are you just as clueless as we are about this place?"

She didn't exactly have the brain to mouth filter in effect yet, it seemed. "Nice office."

One finger tapped his upper lip; his minions stirred behind him. But he didn't give the order, for once.

"No, as a matter of fact, I don't." The Regent waved a dismissive hand. "Nor do I care. Fact is, you're stuck here with the rest of us, so you might as well forget about your former world, Miss ...Kisaragi." God, what a mouthful.

"Moving right along, what skills do you have to offer me in the way of city protection?" He cocked an eyebrow. "And consider carefully, sarcasm isn't exactly tolerated."

It didn't take long for Su to arrive at the site, but it certainly took longer than she thought for them to assure that all were unarmed before entering the building. Judging by the crowds she was sure that she'd be here for quite some time at the very least. Well, better than not making it at all... if you were one to look on the bright side. Su, well, at the moment she certainly felt that it would only be proper to be just that ( ... )

The secretary ushered her towards the Regent's office and closed the door behind her. The Regent sat behind his desk, elbows propped on his chair arms and hands tented in front of him. He gestured for her to have a seat in one of the chairs opposite his desk and waited a beat before beginning.

"Welcome to Paradise. And thanks for coming, I suppose. Why don't you tell me who you are and why you're interested in the Enforcer position?"

Cloud had conflicted thoughts about this. On one hand, he needed local currency for things like food and clothing. His old delivery service wouldn't seem to work here. Not until he got a better idea of what went on in this crazy world. On the other hand, he's never quite trusted official organizations ever since Shinra. Reeve was the exception, but he knew and trusted Reeve personally. Then there was Sephiroth.

Taking a deep breathe, he marched into the City Hall, gave his name to a secretary, then leaned against a wall to wait.

The secretary called Cloud's name and gestured towards the Regent's office door, which was opened by one of the guards standing beside it. The man himself was seated behind his desk, and he gestured to one of the chairs in front of it.

"Come in and have a seat, please."

Without further ado, Cloud marched into the office. He eyed the chair dubiously, but sat down in it anyway on the very edge of the seat itself before looking back at the Regent.

If the regent wants to know more about Cloud, he's going to have to ask, because Cloud won't be offering up any information on his own any time soon.

One eyebrow went up. "I'm assuming you have a name, yes? Hard to survive here without one, although I'm sure it's possible."

The chair creaked as the Regent shifted slightly. "And what skills do you have that'd be helpful? I need warriors, not flukes who are going to get obliterated at a moment's notice."

Well, she had mentioned that she wanted to be part of the team, so Here Hiyono was, making her way up to the City Hall. There might of been a tad bit of a problem with the camouflage her suit held when she was searched, until finally the woman thought to turn it off to leave her in the dark, almost leather like material. That little mystery and security hassle solved, she waited to be called inside the office to meet the Regent.

And when such happened, the woman made her way into the office, nodding to the man in greeting...She had found that on most planets it was the universal signal for welcoming. "Regent."

"Come in and sit down," he called, indicating the chair across his desk. God, it seemed he'd said that a million times in the last few hours. But it was necessary, thus he just steeled himself again and resolved to get done as soon as possible.

"Let's start with the basics. Name, skills, weapons if you have any, and anything else pertinent that would help us out."

She took the seat, sitting straight and meeting the Regent's eyes with a glance of her own. "I am Hiyono Castagno, from the Aleir quadrant's side of space. The planet Kaia, to be exact." A bit of a amused smile crossed her face briefly, and she continued. "Where I come from I am considered a Class C magic user, mostly in the forms of shields and rebounding spells and energy back to their source. I will admit, it's not the highest ranking on our scale, but I have also been on my City's defense force for several years... And in a position of officer for a few years less."

Well, it was true, really. If you counted out the last two years of her life. "As for my weapons, my camosuit and my bolt gun both made it with me to this planet in working order. The former is reliant on my magic and the latter is easily charged by heat."

"And if your magic should run out?" he asked bluntly. "We don't exactly have an outlet we can plug you into, Miss Castagno." It wasn't his nature to be rude, but years in this city had quickly stripped all his politicness to the bone.

Angeal gave the door a knock before peeking his head into the office, his eyes trailing the make shift cubical and his heart warmed as he recalled a blond haired, white glove, pale skinned Lazard - but, with a blink of an eye, the image was replaced with the Regent.

He cleared his throat, and took a step inside, swallowing before "Hello, I'm Angeal - from Gaia, interested in a position, Sir."

The Regent blinked. Now this was more like it. To the point, blunt, and the man looked like he could take on a German tank. And bloody well win. He sat up a bit in his chair, gesturing to the chair on the other side of the desk.

"Ah. Angeal, is it? Interesting name. Please, sit and let's talk about some things." Gaia...that name was familiar - ah, the little ninja brat. Hn, from the same world, were they? Interesting.

Angeal shut the door behind him and found the chair something his whole body ached for (being the fact that they were living in.. ill-furnished apartments) the sight of it was something to lift his spirits already. And when he took that seat, that good wooden chair squeaked and protested to his weight. It brought a smile to his face, and he lay his palms flat to the wooden arms, after a few pats and a good rub he settled his arms across his chest - the chair was.. petite to his size - and the most comfortable position was those arms securely resting on his broad chest.

Still with a smile "Yes, thank you.." taking the compliment for his name being interesting, he was fond of it himself, though he could do without the irony.. but who really ever had foresight anyway?

"Is.. it just Regent, Sir?" Polite about it, but he was awfully curious all the same.

"It is," was the quick answer. The Regent sat back in his chair, fingers tented before him and gazed speculatively at the candidate across from him.

"So," he began without preamble, "why are you interested in this position?" He cocked an eyebrow. "I'd say it's a pretty good bet you have experience in the field, yes?"
