Eliot used to host wine tastings, but sadly they'd gotten off track of the schedule when he left. Considering the last loss Jo had been on made her a slave to the kitchen, she's been trying to stay out of the kitchen as much as possible. That put her in the wine cellar, realizing just how much wine they had stocked up in there.

Wine tasting night seemed to be something they needed to have and she's more than happy to bring up the bottles. Besides, with all the kissing that'd been running around rampant - maybe people needed to have a drink.

Neal was at the bar when she came back up, and he gave her a small smile, before reaching forward to take some of the bottles from her. "You have some really nice vintages downstairs. If I had known I might have snuck down there sooner."

"I thought you were aware of just how stocked the cellar was. We've got a damn near phone book full of names that I can't hardly pronounce."

"I knew there was a lot, but I usually stopped once I found what I needed. I never really took the time to explore."

[She's working on the speed dating plans and as much as she wants to do that at Caritas, she's just so worn out that she's opted instead to just hang out at the castle bar and stick to a booth to herself.

There's wine, which is always nice, but there's also chocolate. That's even better.]

Meanwhile Cas is among the group of others sampling wine.

Castiel still didn't quite get it. He'd come, mostly to loiter and wait for the Winchesters or their group but had stumbled upon something entirely different and confusing.

"Why should I spit?" He didn't understand the purpose.

The laugh that came from behind Cas is low and a bit throaty. Faith's been drinking for a while.

"Wait - why would we spit it out?" Faith had heard about the free alcohol, but she isn't aware of all the rules that go along with a tasting. She's just happy to be able to drink.

"I was told that was what needed to be done," Cas turned around his eyes falling on the shorter brunette.

Faith shrugged, taking another long swallow of the wine and not spitting it out.

"Seems like a waste to just taste it and not drink it. Who says you gotta follow all the rules in this place anyway?"

Ezio was still exploring when he found the Lux. He hadn't been in the castle for even twenty-four hours yet, and it seemed fitting to end the day at a party with wine and snacks. It would be a good place to mingle and get a feel for the castle's residents, and possibly see what people from the 21st century considered a party.

Not too far off from what he considered a party, apparently.

Out of his Assassin robes but still discreetly armed, Ezio had changed into a regular doublet and slipped in with the crowd. He helped himself to a glass of wine and started scoping out the place for interesting people.

But who was he kidding? Everyone was interesting in a world that combined all sorts of planets and time periods.

Katherine was the best at being unseen. She was quiet and found it easy to eavesdrop on whatever conversation suited her in the moment. The Lux was filled with conversations, filled with people drinking - laughing, most of them trying to forget that they were hostage to a castle. It wasn't an easy task, but like most things it seemed plying yourself with alcohol helped.

For the moment, it helped her curb those cravings - dull those feelings that she knew she could shut off - even if she knew she much rather preferred to keep some of them lingering.

Even when it meant the ones she didn't want to recall had their way of creeping in.

She cut across the room, the wine in her glass aerating with every turn she made, the liquid hitting high on the side of the glass.

"Enjoying yourself?"

Ezio was leant against the bar, utterly relaxed in a place that was so absurdly unlike his usual surroundings. Before, a trip into a tavern or inn meant a wood floor long stained and moulding from spilled drink, instead of polished floors. The elegant lights would be replaced by flickering oil lamps, the bar and its taps replaced by barrels and a crude shelf. Nobles entertained guests in their private villas, never in these cramped public spaces. Ezio felt at home already.

He made eye-contact with her, long and lingering, and he let a smile curve onto his face.

"It's not bad, for a first night in Paradise."

With a soft smirk, Katherine leaned against the bar, resting her elbow to the counter.

"You call it Paradise, but most of us pronounce it with an 'a' at the end of it. There's a slight difference, but it does make all the difference."

He seemed a bit out of his time, his era clear on his clothing. It was slightly familiar, a touch of something she hadn't quite forgotten.

Wes isn't quite sure that attending this event is the best idea. Especially now that the sugarplum fairies are out in force, but he doesn't like the thought of hiding away indefinitely.

Fred has informed him that she'll be squirreled away in the lab for the evening with her Libet specimens and he envies her a little. He plans to check on her later, but first...

He's intent on whiling away some of the time and this wine tasting seems the perfect distraction.

He selects a wine that is a rich blackcurrant red and swirls it around, then lifts the glass to his nose to sample the bouquet.

Lilah, of course, was here as well. She's always been a fan of good wine. And though she's already been a victim of the fairies, she's no more of a fan of hiding away than Wesley is.

She was currently sipping at a crisp Chardonnay when she notices him across the room. A smirk spreads across her lips as she drains the rest of the glass and sets it down, making her way over to him.

He offers Lilah a small but genuine smile when he sees her. He knows she's not the most popular person around, but that doesn't stop him from remaining a friend. Even if it's difficult sometimes.

This sort of event is very much her style, so he shouldn't really be surprised that she's here.

"Evening..."

It's still a bizarre notion to Lilah. Being his friend. She's never been anyone's friend. But he considered her such. She tries not to overthink that. It's enough that he hasn't completely cut her out of his life, and that alone is more of a weakness than she'll ever verbalize.

She grins in return.

"Why am I not surprised to find you where they're offering free alcohol?"

It's a playful tease, mostly. He wasn't nearly as much of a lush now as he had been before, when he had been trying to drink away everything.
