Who: Delirium fishy_go_byebye, and Romeo majestic_blue are the hosts What: A small garden party When: Friday night Where: A garden Rating: PG-13? Just to be on the safe side.
Elle had told Del she was going to go to her party if she could remember, but since actually getting out of her room and out with everyone else for the fireworks, and well everyone else really was just Adam, but that counted for a lot to her. So when she remembered about the party she was actually looking forward to it. Del seemed really nice, and seemed like she was someone that Elle could probably be friends with.
Plus if she was going to end up sticking around this place it would probably be better to get out there instead of being a recluse in her room. So to the Garden Party it was!
When Elle got there she wasn't sure what she was supposed to expect, but it hadn't been this at all. This was sort of amazing looking and Elle hadn't ever seen anything like it at all. Staying in Hartsdale was mostly sterile colors and green medical scrubs that matched the painted brick.
Looking around there Elle actually couldn't help but smile.
Del saw Lectricity and decided it was high time to say hello. Taking a deep breath she marched herself over to the girl that had never seen her and grinned like a light bulb.
"Welcome to the gardeny party!"
She didn't know how the girl was going to react it might be bad don't let it be bad. She continued to smile as one hand came up to toy with a moving strand of rainbow hair nervously.
Elle despite rumors of her being a sociopath was actually a very lovable sociopath as long as people seemed that they were being nice to her, and she liked Del, so when the girl with the pretty rainbow hair walked up to her she recognized the voice from some of the journal recordings and smiled right back.
"You're Del right?" Elle asked already really knowing the answer to that.
Del melted slightly in relief. Lectricity was nice, silly people confusing things.
"Does Lectricity hear them singing?" She wondered, reaching out to pet one of the flying fish as it went by. The fish were perfect, she thought. They had been at the other one and she thought people had liked it maybe hopefully everything.
Del was very nice too and Elle was glad that she had talked to her before. She had trouble making friends in Hartsdale, and no one really seemed too happy to see her here in Paradisa, well except Adam... Maybe Peter, but he was never good with saying or doing the right thing Elle assumed from her experience.
She tipped her head aside to listen for the singing, but she wasn't sure if they came from somewhere else, or from the fish. She was also glad the name Del gave her didn't have woman or girl in it too.
"I do hear them singing, it's very nice." Elle watched the fish too, but she wasn't sure she should be touching them.
Del smiled at Lectricity before waving one down and shooing towards the seeming happy girl. She would give them away, but that didn't work quite as well here. She didn't think. Well, she had never tried. Maybe later...
"They hum and it resonates and everything tinkles and purrs." She confided, giving away a secret that wasn't a secret but could be.
Elle nodded at the fish that was shooed toward her, "I hum too. From the current? If you're quiet, or I'm quiet you can sort of hear it? Beneath the surface? Like... high tension wires?" Elle shrugged, it wasn't something everyone picked up on, mostly because they didn't get close enough to her to figure out where it was coming from.
"I don't make music though, it's very pretty," Elle agreed.
Del looked at her for a second before stepping close (space bubble, Del? No.) and taking a deep breath to hold. Her eyes fell almost closed as she listened, still as a statue.
It did make music... Well... It told a story, a secret little story that shouldn't be for everyone, but what an interesting story. Del forgot about the need to breathe all together and it become unnecessary like it used to be. And she listened.
"Story time makes peaceful..." She finally mumbled out, blushing a pale lavender when she realized what she had been doing.
Elle didn't actually mind people getting close to her, as long as they weren't afraid of her hurting them, in fact most people if she knew they were okay with her being close she actually preferred it to no contact at all. Overly tactile was the keyword of the day with the girl that got no love growing up. She watched as Del seemed to try and listen to her, and it actually made her smile as she kept quiet pulling in her breath slower too.
When Del finally spoke Elle smiled, even at the slight blush too, "It helps me sleep sometimes when I can't."
Del purred a little counterpoint to the humming she no longer heard as she thought.
"Del only hears voices and they're loud loud loud. Sleep doesn't creep up often." She grinned again and took Lectricity's hand to pull her gently toward the butterflies. Oh... There was where she put the food... She slid them onto one of the benches in that corner
Elle knew how it was to not have a lot of sleep, the parts of her memory that were missing from her childhood tried to surface in dreams, tiny flashes of sparks of memories she wasn't allowed to have, and none of them were ever good. Now though there were faces she couldn't see and names she didn't know, and even though it had only been a few days since she got to Paradisa, she knew that she wasn't supposed to have such bad dreams.
Though when Del smiles, Elle smiles and she's glad that Del isn't afraid of her and let's her hand clasp to Del's as she's pulled toward wherever Del is tugging her. Taking a seat Elle settled herself on the bench, and took a look at the butterflies and still the people coming in.
"You said... you said Ad- Healing was coming right?" Oh Elle, so very very transparent.
Del giggles an echo-ey little giggles and hums an acknowledgment.
"Healing is coming." She confirmed. He had promised. He would come. Maybe. Probably. "Lectricity could go... talk to him." A nudge exactly opposite of what she had given Healing when he talked about her, but hey. Delirium wasn't the best matchmaker. Everybody would be shocked by that.
Pulling on piece of her hair, she stood up deciding it was time to greet other people. Smiling down at Lectricity she waved a hand vaguely behind her and said "Food is somewhere, Lectricity might like people~"
Elle nodded tugging a bit on her sleeve pulling it over her fingers trying to hide her hands, it was something new she had just started doing, and she really wasn't even sure why she was doing it, but it made her worry less about her ability and people being afraid of her. "I saw him earlier... the fireworks, and then when... with the sword." She wasn't sure if Del knew, or really what Del knew, though she did seem to know a lot, which at least was good for one of them.
"I just don't want to keep you, I mean you're party is wonderful, I'm sure you need to talk to other people too. I just thought if he was coming then I wouldn't be alone is all." At the mention of food, and then people Elle takes a moment to separate those ideas because she's pretty sure... okay she's hoping Del didn't mean she wanted to eat people.
"I think I'm better at watching people right now anyway, I'm still new here."
He had been really upset about the sword. Poor Healing. Not much to say to the major losses. They always hurt a little more than the every month things that popped up.
Lecricity was very nice. Sad, very nice and sad and confused and lost and even younger than Del kinda maybe in a way. Del leaned down and gave Lectricity a quick peck on the cheek, expecting a little zap to come but not worrying about it in the slightest.
"People can be nice. Del's people aren't always nice... Can be."
Elle wouldn't hurt Del, even if the little peck on the cheek was unexpected, she still had very good control over her ability... but if her emotions got tied up into something it might slip away. But even if Del expected a spark there was none, just a smile from Elle because she liked having friends. She didn't have many back home, and none of them would've been like Del.
Plus? Their names rhyme. It just encourages silliness.
"My people aren't always nice either, but some of them are," Elle tried to reassure her but how that was supposed to be reassuring she really wasn't sure. "You're nice, I like talking to you."
Oh, that made Del happy. She glowed a bit, and the fishies near by squirmed a little with her joy. She didn't count as nice very often. Scattered, confusing, crazy. Common adjectives. She liked nice more.
"The people keep coming..." She sighed a little, and pointed more directly toward the food. "Food is there, and she'll like the people, when she's done watching." Smiling some more and twiddling with her hair a bit she waved a hand and started to glide away.
