What: Vala and Daniel get stuck in Daniel's room Christmas Eve, and without a way out they're stuck with each other -- and their issues.

Vala stood in the rickety, slapped-together box that in Paradisa passed for an elevator and waited for it to hit Daniel's floor. She really had no idea what to expect, so she'd brought nothing other than, well, herself. Which was good enough in her mind. After all, she was coming to learn about this Christmas thing. If there was any special tradition of, oh, she didn't know, gift-bringing or odd clothing the night before, well. There was always next year.

Satisfied with that conclusion, she was jarred out of her thoughts by the elevator doors grating open with an accompanying 'ding'. It was hardly smooth service, but it worked decently and she was more or less used to it by now.

Heels clicking on the stone hallway floor, she made her way to Daniel's door and knocked.

Daniel was shaken out of his thoughts by the knock, taking his eyes away from the fire a few feet away from him. Here already? As an afterthought he adjusted the wine glasses on the coffee table, glanced around again. Rubbing the back of his neck he walked to the door, turned the lock and opened it.

He waited until he was looking at Vala before he said, "Hey."
