The red that adorned the room was so befitting, he thought excitedly as he poured a glass of sake for his soon-to-be guest. He couldn't believe Paradisa had such a well-lit love room! Well, okay, so perhaps it was not a love room to begin with, but Gai had the assistance of quite a few ghosts that were eager to help him in decorating the perfect room for this occasion. They placed velvet drapes over the windows, helped light the fireplace, and brought Gai a heart-shaped love seat to set the mood. What mood, you ask? Why, the mood to fuel the fires of an innocent rivalry that embodied all things masculine and heterosexual, of course!
Of course, after a while, Gai realized they were ghosts and started to freak out and told them to head towards the light and chased them off with his nunchucks, but you know.
He pulled out a mirror from his jounin vest, waggling his eyebrows at his reflection and checking to make sure his teeth had that 'ping'. "Nice." It was a good thing the first floor was not as busy as usual, he wanted quiet, personal time with his rival!
And--okay, so telling Kakashi it was urgent to come to this room and that he had been fatally wounded and needed back-up wasn't the most well thought-out idea, but Gai had chickened out to just asking Kakashi to join him for a drink, and thought this idea was much more creative.
He sensed someone coming quickly, and he resumed a pose on the (tiger skin) rug on the floor, a bottle of sake in his hand.
