"Oomph!" Gai slid down the sand shield, falling on his rear into the grass. Stroking his chin, he looked up at the younger man, watching the sand linger in the air protectively around him. Such a cruel existence, to not be able to feel the loving touch of a comrade! He thought dramatically, vowing to never give up trying to catch that sand off its guard.

He jumped to his feet, clasping his hands together and bowing slightly. "Thank you, Kazekage-sama, for being punctual! I assure you, I appreciate your effort." He smiled and met Gaara's eyes, giving him a wink and outstretching his arm, the infamous thumbs-up now in Gaara's face. Gai was pretty sure the sun was directly behind him, wanting to have the perfect lighting.

"It's a beautiful day, is it not?" He crossed his arms, trying to lean back against the tree that he had dove out of. Miscalculating its distance, he just kind of...fell backwards instead, hitting the ground with a loud thump.

Now he will think you aren't cool! Gai scolded himself, trying to save face. He layed on his side and rested his chin in his hand, crossing one leg over the other and posed dramatically on the ground. "How are you?" Good, Gai-sensei! You look kind of cool! he thought proudly.
