Watanuki exited the elevators and walked towards Renji's room. Maybe it was because Zelman had burnt his face off without saying anything, maybe it was the fact that without the sensation of touch and proper control over powers, the two of them could end up far worse than they could handle. Either way, Watanuki was concerned.
Renji opened the door a crack, still frowning. Seeing who it was, he pulled the door open the rest of the way, stepping to the side to let Watanuki inside. He nodded in greeting, wondering if he should slide down the glasses and take a look, or wait.
He decided to wait for a minute. Now that Watanuki was actually here, he wasn't quite so eager.
Watanuki walked in with a nod. After the journal conversation with Allen, he was feeling uneasy. Then again, he's been upset for the good portion of last week, so...
To be able to stay with someone was a relief in itself. Someone who didn't tease or confuse him as much as...
"Are those the glasses that you lost?" he pointed at the glasses perched on Renji's forehead. "They look really cool on you."
Closing the door with his foot, Watanuki's comment made Renji's hand automatically go up to the glasses sitting against his brow.
"Thanks. Yeah, they're the ones I lost." he readjusted them carefully, making sure they weren't in danger of falling. Since they'd been returned to him, he'd been guarding them religiously, paranoid to leave them out of his sight. It wasn't like he could replace them here.
Watanuki smiled, albeit a bit weakly, and sat down on the corner of the bed.
"That's good," he paused slightly as he remembered Zelman's conditions for the return of those glasses and sighed. The last few weeks were nothing but upsetting and while the singing was a bit uplifting, the following days have been nothing but... Distressing.

Reaching Renji's door, he knocked gently.
"Ne, Renji?"

"I'm glad to have them back."
