A question for the magic users of this castle. What's the difference between magic, and power as according to your world?

What do you mean?

Aren't they sort of the same thing?

No, not actually. At least they're not in my world.

How are they different?

I'll try to answer the question after that, once I see what you mean.

Well, magic is power borrowed from a higher being. Power is something that a person already owns.

That's the best way I can explain it.

Most people equate the two. There are different sorts of power, of course, but magic is one way to access it.

What about those who can access power without the aid of magic?

Prestige is power. Influence. Will, strength, brilliance. You don't need to harness the energies of the world to change it.

[pause] Many of those with magic tend to dismiss those without, even if they share other strengths.

Hnnn.

Let me put it this way. What about the person who can do something supernatural, without the aid of magic?

[Y halo thar little girl. You're looking slightly more sane today.]

Those who have magic are considered to have great power, whether they can cast it directly, or by channeling it into something that grants them superhuman strength, or advanced technology.

Hmm. Interesting.

[Kratos doesn't speak zodiac, that's all.]

Of course, mana is the support of all life in my world. It is different for many others.

[The moon is in the house of Pisces.]

What exactly is mana?
