-----Private-----

I left the tribe to protect my children from the war, but they found their way into it all the same. Nothing can change how proud I am of them for everything they've done, but she's only fourteen, and she's the one running the household here. It's easy to forget that time doesn't stand still, when you're separated, and each time it happens, she grows up a little bit more.

It was a mistake to let her take this on. She's done so much growing up without me, but no matter what she's done for the world, we all forget she's still just a girl. An extremely talented, clever girl, but she's not old enough to handle everything.

And Kya... initially I thought coming here would be a vacation, but to see my wife again, alive and well... it's something I'd only ever dreamed of. This is time we never had, time we should have had. Knowing this place could strip me of that at any second is horrible, but it could never offset the hope that maybe we'll get to grow old together, after all.

-----Kya-----

[totally giving her ridiculously big, goofy smiles whenever she isn't looking. Can't help it, even if it makes him look half his age.]

If given the choice to go home, I'm not so sure I could.
