[there's a pause when he hears Rose's voice]

Yeah, it has. Three years today, obviously.

[a beat]

How much do you remember?

Comes in pieces, yeah? Like... small chapters in a book I read, but wanted to skip to the good bits.

I arrived here on January 2, 2009, so as of today it's three years.

Wow. Has it gotten any easier?

[a bit of a laugh]

Some things, yes. It's nice to be in one place and develop a routine, but in other ways?

I'll be there in a few hours, then.

If it helps, three years doesn't seem like that long a time. In the grand scheme of things.

It's the longest I've stayed anywhere, actually. So to me ... it's a long time.

You have been here three years?

Yep. Some people have been here longer.

In all that time, have you ever tried to escape here?

I haven't had reason to.

Three years? Hmm, I think I have been here that long, almost. It feels that long.... it almost feels like you blink and then it is gone, yes? The days, the months, the years. And all of it will mean nothing, if we ever go back.

imnot_likeyou January 3 2012, 01:57:50 UTC
I don't think it means nothing.

I meant in the fact we will remember none of it. I feel to some extend the deeper feelings of the situations remain, but... I have to wonder how much is lost.

I don't think it's ever really "lost." It's still all in the journals, when you think about it.
