Waking Up

[At first there's just the rustle of bedding, following by a distinct thud as a journal is knocked off the nightstand and lands open-ended on the floor. Then there's a quiet hum -- that warm, wakeful sound that always seems to come out of a body after a good bit of sleep. It elongates as Fred does the same, stretching out and then curling to one

[it takes a moment for that familiar voice to register, but then Ray's snatching up his journal, grinning]

... He-ey, you're awake!

What happened? Did somethin' actually put you to sleep, or was it the castle? I couldn't figure it out ...

I haven't quite figured that part out yet.

I ... I do? Gee, thanks, Fred. That's awful nice of you ... even if I'm not really sure what I do. If there's anything I can do - beyond the thing I don't know I'm doin' - you'll let me know, though, right?

Okay, good. Well, you know where I am, f'you need me. My room actually didn't get moved. I think it's cuz I was in one of the towers, but m'not sure yet.
