[Damian is glad to be back in the castle, even if he would rather not be here at all. That said, after dealing with the outdoors and the leaves, he's also glad to stay in for a night

[ even after sitting in the room where the trial took place, being (uncomfortably) questioned by sakura about things she didn't really want to discuss anymore and having to look at two-face again, uru didn't want to keep being afraid of the same thing. she had to man up, right? besides, two-face was jailed in the castle, riful was gone, tyki was jailed in the dead zone. she didn't have to be afraid.

all of that goes out the window when something speaks to her from the shadows, and she staggers back with a yelp like she's just been electrocuted. she quickly holds up her bag, posed to throw it. ]

Don't come close. [ she takes another step back, eyes desperately trying to make out a form. ] I'll scream really loud!

[He raises his hands in mock surrender, keeping a few steps back from her.]

Who would come running to rescue you, I wonder?

[wornbright]

[ STEPHANIE... if she's not on a potty break or something. there's something oddly familiar and unnerving about the voice but she can't place it yet. ]

There are always people patrolling.

[He can never quite kick that growl, even with people he likes. The hard edge to his voice is almost burned in now, irreversible. He couldn't sound sensitive even if he tried.]

[ she steels her expression, kind of like a cat trying to ruffle its fur and make itself appear frightening and bigger than usual. except this is kind of like a kitten attempting to scare off a bear... ]

... Good people.

[wornbright]

[ ... nope. visibly shaken and losing all self-control.

TURNS AND RUNS. LAWD... ]

[See, that's why he should be more sensitive.

He springs into action, easily catching up and getting around her, blocking her path.]

[wornbright]

[ there's a scream and she nearly runs into him and halts just in time, throwing her hands up defensively. she doesn't run the other way now, staying put because there really is something vaguely familiar about his voice and even his creepy presence. ]

[Slightly annoyed at the panicking and screaming, but that's mostly his fault.]

Uru, it's me.

[wornbright]

[ her heart's pounding in her ears. this is the part she's expecting to be punched in the face again but it doesn't come and she wonders why, then comes to realize the answer.

her eyes widen and she jerks her head up to see. ]

Damian?

[It's hard to get out of Batman mode, to drop the ever-present seriousness, but he tries to be at least a little more accommodating.]

How... [ bruce said damian was missing. she assumed he'd run off on his own for the time being. was this a loss? there's a lot of questions swimming in her head. the most important being if any of this was real or she had just exhausted herself at work and was imagining all of this. she pinches herself on the arm to make sure. ]

[wornbright]

O-Ouch!

[ SHOOTS HIM A LOOK. ]

What are you doing jumping out at me like that?!

[heirdom]

[He's not sure how to answer that, for a moment.]

That's what I always do.

[wornbright]

Jeez...

[ she almost wants to say he scared her but that much is obvious. in fact, she's still fidgeting as he towers above her. ]

Why are you here? When did you get here?

[ does he remember all the awkward between them? the last time he barely knew her, so she doubts it. if he had been seeking her out, she definitely wanted to know why. ]

I've been here for a week now, and as for why, I can only assume it's part of the castle's sick plan. I don't know how much longer I'll be here.
