This. The mess. [Lilah is usually calm and collected, but here in the manifestation of everything that's gone wrong, her facade is harder to keep up.]

There has to be a way to make them right again.

I see. [he'll reach over towards a pile of documents and pick one up, just scanning it over to see if it reveals anything interesting.]

So it's not just poor organization. It's been stuck like this?

[She reaches up to snatch it from him. Like all the documents here, they reveal personal information about Lilah. This particular one mentioning something involving her mother and a nursing home.]

It is. And it's usually never like this. But someone made it this way.

[oho, all right. he lets it go easily enough, putting his hands up a little to show that he's not touching anything else. promise. mostly promise.]

[It's vague. But Lilah doesn't want to go into details. If she talks about what happened, then that's admitting it got to her and even though the proof is right here in the open, she doesn't want to admit it. She's not that weak.]

Excuse me if I don't want to share with someone I just met. [Not that'd she share anyways. And the words sound more defensive than she' like. Nothing was going right.]

It's not so much rude as it's just dumb. You build up trust before trying to gleam information out of people. Whether you mean that trust or not. [She speaks from experience, perhaps more freely than she would normally.]
