[Peace Patrol Headquarters]

[Meeting time! Everyone come in, mingle, greet the newbies. Yuan's sitting at the front of the room, surrounded by more papers than usual, and looking...particularly grim? That seems strange, considering that they've won the big fight.

Haven't they? ...Maybe he's just tired.]

Meeting start! cloakand_danger August 21 2011, 04:39:12 UTC
[Yuan stands and clears his throat. Time to begin.]

It's been an eventful month, and we've accomplished a lot. We have a great deal to be proud of, but we've also made a great deal more work for ourselves in capturing so many threats - now that we have them, we have to work out what to do with them.

But before we begin, I have an unfortunate announcement. Tony Stark, who had previously taken charge of the Patrol, who built this headquarters and most of the equipment in it, and a great deal of other things besides...has been sent home.

[He pauses to let that sink in.] He left a great deal of his work behind, including notes which put me in charge of the Patrol now that he's gone. Anyone's free to have a look at them if you'd like, and if you want to dispute the appointment, you may do so now, or later in private - I'll be here after the meeting in the workspace I've claimed.

[ She never met Tony with any lengthy conversation of.. anything, really, but she'd seen him around and interfaced with him now and again. She nods, taking this in. That has to be a lot to handle... ]

I'm very sorry to hear that he's gone. He was a good man.

[Five simply takes this in with a frown. he was afraid of it, really - he'd been hearing less and less from the scientist about his steam-powered projects, and the two of them had kept each other in the loop on them ...

he sighs, softly, and drags a hand across his mouth. it's grim news, yes, but there are more important matters at hand to cover. life goes on - and he's sure that Tony would understand that]

Villains cloakand_danger August 21 2011, 04:48:48 UTC
The Patrol's prisons are more full than they've ever been, and there are others being contained in separate locations as well. The topic has been breached at other meetings, but it's suddenly become a vital one: we need to figure out a long-term solution for dealing with those who become a threat to others. We need to set up trials to determine sentencing, and the sooner the better. I've looked it up, and the Patrol does have guidelines in these circumstances, for trial if not for sentencing ( ... )

Guard duty cloakand_danger August 21 2011, 04:58:54 UTC
One thing we're going to need is a lot of volunteers for guard duty. Impenetrable cells and surveillance systems are all well and good, but there's still nothing that beats careful vigilance. Guarding will be done in paired shifts, preferably no more than four hours at a time, depending on how many volunteers we have.

[ Screw it, she makes her journal dictate this: ]

Are we going to have swing shifts and the ability to switch out should we need to be away from the jailing centers for a time?

Absolutely. No one will ever be required to stay longer than they're comfortable with. [A sardonic smirk.] We don't need to torture ourselves when the castle can do that for us.

Publicity cloakand_danger August 21 2011, 04:52:39 UTC
It's come to my attention that as a group, we've developed a rather exclusive image among the other residents. I'd like to develop ways to reach out and work more with those who haven't joined the Patrol, but might prove useful allies anyway. ...I'll be the first to admit, my experience from home has been directed at the opposite effect, so I'm open to suggestions here.

It could be something as simple as a liaison between the Patrol and everyone else. They may not need to know everything but someone could just keep people updated on the most important details and requests for assistance.

A liaison would be good between the Patrol and everyone else, but I would also suggest one between each of any other groups here at the castle if there are none already.

While the liaison would be able to inform others of whats going on if prompted, perhaps even have them, do a weekly or bi-weekly announcement of assistance needed, projects of a not so sensitive nature going on, things of that sort.

I've been acting as liaison to Chimera, and I don't know of any other major groups significant to the castle's defense. It's an excellent idea, though, especially if more groups begin to form.

First-gens cloakand_danger August 21 2011, 04:54:51 UTC
I'd also like to take just a moment to remind everyone that although the situation with the first-generation residents has been put on the back burner, we can't afford to forget that they're out there, and have journals. Remember to filter anything sensitive against them, just in case.
