[Those in the library today will be greeted by the sight of Charles, surrounded by several stacks of books on just about every subject, from Modern Technology for Dummies, to Radio Technology and You!, and he currently has Modern Warfare: Tactics and Strategies spread open on the table before him. At the same time, however, he's got a legal pad ( Read more... )

Hallo again, Charles. An excellent beginning of a strategy, you have there. ... As I'm one of the designated strategists for this little endeavour, I should like to think that that's saying something.

But I should also like to offer my services, if I may.

Hello, Five. I must admit, the credit for that strategy doesn't go entirely to me. I had a discussion a few days ago with Felix Harrowgate, a user of magic, about the subject of pooling the ability of the castle's telepaths for both offensive and defensive purposes, focusing on neutralizing Legato, and protecting our own people from his ability.

I appreciate that. We should perhaps arrange a meeting of the castle's telepaths, as Felix gathered the castle's magic-users, to get us all on the same page?

That may be an excellent idea, as well - though, at this point, I should think a meeting of all wishing to be involved in any fashion would be wise.

The more people know the most information possible, the better. We don't want anyone else getting hurt - or worse - due to a lack of knowledge.

A fair point, that. One of the ideas I had was to have the castle's telepaths enter the minds of all who'd be engaging in combat with Legato and the others, so that when Legato tries to use his ability, he'd have to expel us first, though obviously we would need their permission, first.

Very true. I've been saying the same thing, in my conversations with others about this.

Oh. [his tone drops in that one simple syllable] I'm not sure I care for that idea, myself. The whole point of fighting Legato is to ensure that people's minds remain their own, and that they stay in control of themselves.

Unless you're thinking more of ... being "backseat passengers" of sorts, which ... is an interesting concept.

That was more along what I had in mind, yes. I don't relish spreading myself so thin, and the last thing I want to do is deprive anyone of their free will, so I figure if we keep our telepathic presence at just enough, it should be enough that it keeps Legato out, and our fighters free to do as they will. It will allow us to see how they're doing, as well.

I tested it recently on a young man named Tavros. He's under the effects of a loss at present that allow him to fly, where he normally is confined to a wheelchair, like myself. I must admit that I indulged myself a bit, and entered his mind just enough to see through his eyes. He didn't seem terribly bothered by my mental presence, so I believe if we're upfront about our intent, we should be able to use this to help our forces fight Legato.

It's certainly an option. I've been thinking of a way to involve the TARDIS, herself, as well ... though if I do, we'll have to be quite careful. Her psychic presence is ... formidable, to say the least, when she needs to be.

I still need to see this vessel of yours, once things have calmed down a bit. If your vessel can be adapted to assist us in this, I'd say the more, the merrier.

Adapted? Oh, no. She doesn't need to adapt a thing, she's perfect just as she is.
