Hi there. First of all, can I ask how long you've been here and how much you've been informed about the situation with the outsiders living in the dead zone, and even the existence of the dead zone itself?
The twenty sixth marked two months since my arrival. I confess, little has been told to me directly on those matters, though I have spent no small amount of time reading what has been written of them in the journals. [So she's got the basics, at least.]
[well this is a business proposition! she'll be nicer, Galadriel. :c]
Mmm. But you know that there's a population of hostile former residents of the castle, living out in the dead zone? They're not friendly to us, and in fact they've stolen items from castle residents before - important ones - which is really what this is all about.
All right. Well, one of the most important things they've stolen from us is flying suits - like suits of armor, but very dangerous. The person wearing them is protected from attack and...
My home is significantly less advanced in that regard than most here. However, again, I have not been idle since my arrival; I have learned much. Your meaning is plain enough. Please, continue.
Okay... so, originally someone from the castle built these suits. They were stolen during a world change, and ever since, the hostiles, who have more information on the castle than we do and live out in the dead zone, have been using them to their advantage... and I want to get them back.
They come in here sometimes. So, if they turn up again, and if they can be detected and neutralized by a telepath... or even detected by someone who can swiftly sound an alarm... definitely.
[She actually has to think about this for a moment.]
I am afraid I would not be able to "neutralize" a threat; what harm I may inflict is emotional rather than physical and would do little to prevent further actions on their part.
I could, however, raise an alarm. The difficulty lies in the fact that I have never met those I would warn against. Unless they have a particularly powerful mind or stand out in some other way, it should prove challenging to distinguish them from any of the multitudes who come and go here. I don't suppose any have spoken to them?
So you couldn't ground them, or keep them from taking off... [A little moment.] That's all okay. I know we have a lot of people with different telepathic capabilities and specialties here. [Okay, she didn't know that, but she is getting some bites, so.]
I've talked to a woman named Damsel, but I don't know if she comes in with the suits - frankly, we don't even know how many outsiders there are. I don't think anyone's managed to converse with them.
Before my time here I would not have thought such a thing possible. [And she only knows about it now because she's been warned against Legato.]
[She sighs. This seems like a near impossible task to her, but she really does want to help.]
I do not know how much use I may be without knowing exactly what it is I seek. [She needs a target. :(] If you would be willing, I may be able to learn enough of this Damsel to recognize her mind, but even that is second hand knowledge.
But I do remain watchful of my own accord and it would take little effort to extend my attentions to this matter. If I should notice anything out of sorts, I would, of course, inform others.
Forgive me for not introducing myself right away. I am Galadriel, Lady of Lórien. [Just so you know that when she gives her word it's a pretty big deal.] If I may have your name in return...?
