[seeing as she has no idea Karen was the one who attacked him, there's no change in her tone. She just recognizes her as the woman from the day before]
Someone attacked him. In town. After everything that was said when we talked...
[a frustrated noise] I knew people would try to stop him once they knew... and they should. But it's like they didn't even try to plan before doing it. This is what I was trying to avoid.

...............
[give her a minute, Karen. Because she'd taken the other woman's anger in stride before, knowing she'd deserved it. But hearing that the same woman had disregarded every reason she'd had for NOT speaking?
[Idly, in that tone which suggests he doesn't really want to admit he's reading filters for good guys, but doesn't want to let something slide at the same time:]
[ would roll his eyes at peej's reckless behavior buuut he's not really one to talk. but still EVEN HE IS ROLLING HIS EYES you just can't see it ]
The main issue is getting him away from Riful and Arthas. He's not as strong as they are, so if people who can defend against psychic attacks take him on and he has no back-up, this honestly should be a piece of cake.
The trick is to find a way to lure him somewhere the townspeople won't be in danger, and be prepared to defend and take his sorry ass out. I can defend against psychic attacks, and I have some of my own, so if I'm needed then I'm definitely in. He hurt Yukiko, and I've been looking for him ever since.
I honestly can't say 100% that I can block him. But I'm 99% sure I can. The only time someone was able to break through my defenses, I wasn't exactly in control of myself. And I don't even know who that person is.
[ if the situation had been different MAYBE he would realize it was legato but...he can't imagine legato saving the city, okay ]
If we had more of those pendants Allen mentioned, people would stand a better chance. But battle's always risky. It can't be helped.
I know its a risk that we have to take eventually. It's just... if he'd decided to carry out his threat on the townspeople, there would have been nothing there to stop him.
[Yeah, he's completely forgotten that he doesn't sound like himself]
I won't bother scolding you, it's apparent you've done enough of that, yourself, already. You do sound like you need a rest, though. The Zero room's always open to you, you know.

Someone attacked him in town yesterday.
I don't know who. I just know that he made a point to talk to me right after they lost.

It was a mistake on my part but don't you start throwing around insults.

Riful? He's working for Riful?

I'm sorry, Crowley. I didn't know. I only found out two days ago.
[and Karen had put her in her place so soundly that she hadn't thought to let the demon know what she'd learned.]

Maybe a few.
[understatement of the year. She's tired, and more than a little raw after the emotional rollercoaster this whole thing has dragged her through.]

It's good to hear there are people other than the Doctor who can block him.
[and people who were actually thinking strategically about this. -.-]

Jilly, you should have come to me. To one of us. We could have helped you, somehow.

[she doesn't recognize the voice...the filter makes that much obvious. But the apology is genuine anyway. She knows she screwed up]

[okay...she's been around the castle and the Doctor long enough to put it together after that]
