A record of fifteen hundred days, and the count will grow steadily higher by the day. I don't know if it is interesting or troublesome that someone - or perhaps something - wrote the number in the journal. Figuring out the reasoning behind it is difficult. Some say it's the days that this "generation" has been around, however there's nothing to say that it could be dating to the appearance of the castle itself.
However, there is the concern of this "first generation" that other residents have discussed. I know I have not been around for nearly as long as I'd like to be for the sake of solving this, but perhaps all I need just lies in what has been discovered already. Are these really residents of a 'generation' before us, or is this perhaps something more?
The fact that creature has appeared outside after that message is a cause for concern. It currently appears that it is not hostile, but it is easy to know how quickly the temperment of the castle and its beings can change on a simple moment's notice.
Perhaps if another expedition is held, it may be wise for me to travel with them. There are far too many gaps in this case than I would like.
For now, I suppose all that can be done is wait and see for what reason this creature has simply... appeared.
