If the castle even knows we're questioning it, I doubt it cares. It does as it's wont to do.

It is not adverse effects that I foresee; rather, it is, as you say, a lack of any change made as a result of these complaints.

In a twisted sense, I'd actually even be a little relieved to see the castle do something adverse in response to what we do. At least that way, we'd know it's even aware of us.

The knowledge that one is being watched over at all times may be somewhat unpleasant, in itself.

A benevolent watcher would be welcome, but this place... you do have a valuable point.

Even the most benevolent may yet have their unpleasant sides.

Then, I'd be hesitant to call it a truly benevolent force.
