[She looks up from a notebook, where she's sketching the contents of one of the sample vials she took. It looks like there's some kind of plant material inside.]

Nothing that can't wait, of course. How are you, Rin?

If you're sure - [A somewhat concerned glance at Raine's work, but Rin comes and sits without argument. She looks kind of fretful, actually, but Raine gets a small smile.] Is that new?

From the house, yes. I intend to inspect it fully once we reach the castle again. It may be useful to determine if he really was developing a cure for something, or if they're all poison and he truly was mad.

[Nods, listening, and then sort of looks down at her hands.]

I feel... bad.

[A few yards away from the camp's edge, Cass isn't taking much of a vacation. Going through a few patterns, she's seemingly oblivious to anyone approaching her.]

[Rin will stop to watch, anyway. Sigh, Cass makes it look so easy... how can she do it?]

Anyway, she'll end a set and glance over at Rin.]

[Lifts a hand politely. Cass gets a smile with some real warmth in it.]

[Billy's also at some edge of camp, hanging out on his chocobo since he's sick of getting his feet wet. He's bouncing between reading some little beaten-up paperback book and looking out over the spooky unreal sea stretching off into the distance...while his poor bird is still trying to clean all the gunk out of its feathers]

[Rin pauses and looks at him for a moment, rocking from the balls of her feet to her heels. It makes squelching noises in the now-marshy land.]

Y'know, I'm not even really sure. [looks up from the book, and turns it over in his hands] I just grabbed the first travel-size book I found in the library. I'm halfway through it and still don't quite understand what it's about.

...Well, what's it called? [Leans a bit, glancing to see if the title shows.]

[Mouse is thoughtfully taking a few moments to brush all the gore off her horse, and happens to glance at Rin out of the corner of her eye]

Hey there, Honey. You faring alright after your amazing take-down? [She quirks a smile, but there's definitely a hint of resevere in her voice.]

[Looks down and smiles a little, but there's a slightly watery edge to that.]

Well. You know. I bounce back from stuff fast.

How's your arm?

[Pauses a moment to look at the bandages] Seems to be healing alright, although it's a little sore from over-exertion. I certainly didn't help things when I lost my head earlier.

[Leans on her horse and looks over at Rin] You sure you alright, Shugah?

Well. I lost my head too.

[Looks up. Her smile is strained, and she shakes her head a little.] I'm just thinking... about stuff. I don't know. It's kind of silly.

[Roy's voice is still a little rough, but he's looking a fair amount better for the few days' rest and decent eats. There's a little smile and a little sympathy on his face, here - not too much of either.]

[Gives him a glance, and then a little smile back. She'll crouch if he's sitting, or just wander on over if he's standing.]

Hi there. Nice view, right? [A gesture out over the marshy plain.]

[Oh he is totally sitting down, relaxed in much the same boneless slump he can keep up for days.]

I know. I'm just waiting for a slime-monster from an old B-movie to erupt from the rushes.

[Scoots over. There's room.]

Really makes a guy feel welcomed, you know? Just exactly not like home.

[A little stutter of a laugh. She sits, looking at him closely, lacing her fingers loosely together.]
