I didn't want to jump on the bandwagon.

I didn't want to jump on the bandwagon. I didn't want to join the hype. (In fact, I was quickly getting extremely annoyed by the hype.) And in fact I haven't.

But damn, ever since realization hit tonight, I've been giddy and squealing and acting like a maniac! This is so silly.

I washed some dishes tonight and put on the radio, and while I was preparing dinner shortly after, I suddenly made out a melody and words I knew. I didn't pay close attention at first, and the street noise was also quite distracting. The radio played a version of the song "Beggin'" I had never heard. Right, I thought, I think I read somewhere the other day that a cover version is out. I focused on the meal in the pan again.

Then I noticed (pretty late into the song) that it's actually quite a rocky version. Wow, I thought to myself, that's awesome. That's an awesome version.

And then I had this flicker of a memory that I might have read about Beggin' while scrolling through the gazillion posts with the Eurovision hashtag in one of the gazillon posts about Måneskin. Hell, was that really Måneskin on the radio? Was it? Was it? I LOVED THIS VERSION! AND I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE HALF OF THE SONG, BUT THE BIT I DID NOTICE WAS AMAZING!

OK. I quickly entered the word "beggin" into Google and Måneskin appeared right below Madcon. The squee was sudden, real, and unexpected.

There.

I still haven't listened to the whole version. (OK, technically I have, but without paying attention.) I'm afraid I will be sold once I do. :0P

eurovision, music, wheeee!
