I got new glasses again in Hong Kong... apparently my last pair didn't have an accurate prescription for my astigmatism (I got them at costco after I saw the in-house optometrist), so I got a similar frame with the updated prescription. I also got 30-day's worth of 1-day acuvue for astigmatism, which I don't think are available in the US yet. These will be better than the ones I got before, since I rarely wear my contacts and regular disposibles are more expensive if I only wear them once. This way I can wear my contacts for a day then toss them :) I'll only get 20/25 out of my contacts though, but that's expected since its prescription doesn't exactly match my eyes. I also got 5 free pairs since the order was delayed, and mom will pick the boxes up for me.
I know most of you do spent a lot of time on the computer, so here's something to watch out for: the optometrist told me I have 假近視 (false nearsightedness), or
Pseudomyopia. What she gave me as the difference between what my nearsightness is and should be is consistant with the amount I've gained since I started college, so it makes a lot of sense. Remember to take frequent computer breaks (30s per 30min is what I thin she recommended) and focus on something as far away as possible!
