Orthodox Lent is early this year (it starts this Sunday) so this week is cheese fair, the last time til Orthodox Easter (excluding feast days and Sundays) my girlfriend can have cheese (similarly, last week was meat fair, but since I was having intestinal misery, we couldn't really revel in it). went to the grocery store in honor of this and bought ( Read more... )

Brocolli and/or pasta and/or cauliflower and/or brussell sprouts in cheese sauce, or cheese fondue. I have a recipe for cream cheese-whipped cream chocolate icing that's yummy either as a mousse or a cake.

Chunks of cheese in a warm-to-room-temp-or cold pasta salad.

Palak Paneer.

PALAK PANEER! how did I not think of that? it's my favorite thing EVER. I'm not sure I could make it, though; do you have a recipe?

I make all my cake frostings with cream cheese, I made a strawberry cake last week and I had to force myself to stop eating the frosting out of the bowl. I should make a cake for Valentine's Day.

alfredo with veggies is definitely doable, and I wouldn't even need additional cheese for that. whee! thanks. :)

I do not have a palak paneer recipe, but i googled on palak paneer recipe, and found several. A half a kilo of spinach is about a pound. Oil or butter will substitute for ghee. Recipes seem variable on onion, so that seems to taste, though hing (asafoetida) could substitute.

if you can get good crisp apples, you'll have to make a sliced apple & cheddar sandwich. Yum. Yum yum. Yum.

You could also just go mad and do a cheese fondue. :)
