Phil and I rescued these little kitties about a week and a half ago in the middle of the night around 4 am during a storm when we heard them constantly crying for over an hour. at first we thought it was a bird, but Phil finally got up to stick his head outside and confirmed that they were little kitties crying. He told me "i have to get those kittens" and rushed outside in the rain to find them. he came back to the apartment and handed me two black kittens that were soaking wet and crying. he told me that he found them in a little gutter drainage ditch hole. two of them were hanging out of the hole with water surrounding their little heads...almost about to drown. they were all soaking wet! he went down to get the others. i laid them in a towel and put them in a box. Phil came back with the other two and told me that he spotted the mother. so we decided to put the box out in front of the gutter but underneath the dry roof of the apartment so that the mom could find them. well, we didn't get much sleep because we were too worried about these kittens so we keep checking on them. around 8 am we find that one kitten is missing and the mom is hanging around the box. so we try to stop checking on them so that we won't scare the mom away. Then phil goes out on his balcony and discovers there are 3 kittens on his balcony behind the couch he has up there! He lives on the 2nd floor too! There were two orange ones and a black one. The ones we had in the box were all black so we hadn't seen these orange ones. Well so then we put food and water out there for the mom cat. the mom cat shows up, eats, feeds her 3 babies, and i'm peeking through the blinds trying to be sneaky so that she doesn't see me. as she's done feeding her babies she grabs the black kitten and takes off with it! We watch her through the window jump onto the roof and down off the balcony with her kitten. she goes back to the gutter and then runs off into the opposite direction with the kitten. So we decide to get the other kittens in the box and put them with the other kittens on the balcony. Hours hours later she finally shows up and feeds her kittens. She later brings back her other baby cat and they are all reunited and safe on Phil's balcony.
They've been there for the past week, the mom has been there pretty much 24/7 with them. i want to find homes for these kittens, i don't want them to be strays. We've found homes for 2 of them, but the other 4 need homes too. They should be ready when they are 4 weeks old. So far...i'm guessing they are about a week and half. I'm not too sure.
This is them when we first put them on the balcony, notice the black one missing.
and here they are all reunited! being cute....
the mom cat eating....
and Butters being a little voyeur, he can stare at her forever!
