Prompt: Beautifully different. Think about what makes you different and what you do that lights people up. Reflect on all the things that make you different - you'll find they're what make you beautiful. (Karen Walrond)

So I've been rolling this one around all day, and I'll I've got are sideways-wanderings. I mean, I'm all about the being/becoming who you are fully, really sinking in and owning it, from your fundamental principles all the way up and through to the sparkly outer coating. And that youness (me-ness), and ownership of it, is where the compelling beauty of life comes from.

But that means that beauty comes from complex interactions, the way things mix, the energetic relationships, the tensions that exist, the push-pull that's all piled up on top of the peaceful, fiery inner core of personhood. And while I sure as hell hope that that's a different amalgamation for each of us, it make it really hard for me to point and say that, right there. No, a little to the left. That's it. That's what makes me different, what makes me beautiful.

It took me too long to realize that I don't take good pictures 'cuz I've got the kind of beauty that moves.

So I don't always know what does it for people. And I think that what draws me to someone might be entirely different than what makes them beautiful to someone else. And I think that uncertainty, that multiplicity, layered over very simple things, is beautiful, too.
