Early nineties in the snow.

Yesterday was the official start of the tour. I didn't get to bed until four in the morning, but the cat and I curled up next to Chris, who got to stay a little longer before he left for work, because aparently some team from Pittsburgh did something with bowls and six-packs the night before? I dunno. XD

But it was nice. He got dressed and we hung out in bed until he had to leave. We said by and he called my mom and talked for a little while, and for the rest of the day I pretty much sat on the couch and played with the cat for the rest of the day, and just before I left, I gave him some ham and cheese so the last thing he would remember from me was how much mommy spoilt him. I cried a couple of times over him, but I think he'll be alright.

Jeff and the guys picked me up around three-thirty and we were officially on the road around five.

I think Brett drove the longest, and listening to him talk to Chris was very strange, in a good way. They talked about everything. Their girlfriends, God, music, how they want the tour to change them for the better. We all sort of agree that we want to end up being like a little community living out of this van by the time we're done. It makes me feel a lot better, even though I don't really have any close friends with me in this.

At about one, we pulled over at a rest stop for the night. At first Brett tried to use me as a human pillow but that didn't work out too great, so I got to stretch out and claim a seat of my own. I was dreading sleeping in the cold, but I think I handled it pretty well with all my blankies. :D We only had to heat up the car once in the middle of the night.

Got on the road about 20 minutes ago, and other than Jeff paying too much attention to the GPS and almost getting us killed, it's been pretty good. We put on a 90s radio station (and it is so weird to hear commercials for ski resorts in Connecticut) and Brett told me that even after a night in a van, I still looked pretty. +laugh+ Then he told Chase the same thing. Oh, drummers.

So, yeah. That's it. No pictures yet; NY looks a lot like PA, but with more snow.

Love you, maybe more tonight after our first show, which is Boston.

ohno, chris, snow, douglas, tour
