Exceedingly proud of myself!
The other day on fandomsecrets there was a secret about someone tracing from photographs, asking for crit at anime communities, and frequently receiving responses about how the woman in the picture looked fat and her boobs were all wrong. The comments were a lot of "you must learn to draw realism first!" And then I went looking through all my art trying to figure out what kind of style I draw in and if I have any understanding of how to draw/paint realistically.
So today I picked up this picture of La Roux and tried to see what I could do with it.
I am so fucking proud of myself you guys, you don't even know. I was pretty sure there was no way I'd be able to do it and at almost every point of the drawing I was going to give up for fear of failure, but I managed it. It's not perfect, the hair in particular, but I surpassed my own expectations and I feel totally rad right now and am seeing the benefits of challenging myself.
And it only took 3 1/2 hours or so!
