I'm baking spent-grain cookies right now. They are based off a recipe that
Stephanie posted a few days ago on her fabulous food blog, only I made a few changes... nothing big, added cinnamon, ground up the spent grain in a food processor before adding it to the dough, and didn't use whole wheat flour. They are REALLY good! I think next time I'll use some whole wheat and maybe use regular butter instead of peanut butter, it might help them spread out a bit more. We're going to a homebrew Octoberfest party tonight, so I feel like this should be an appropriate desert to bring along!
I've been knitting a bunch lately. I made a scarf as a birthday gift for a friend at work, and then another co-worker liked it so much he paid me to knit him a similar one! I also knit myself a hat that is too big (I was actually following a pattern and cast on 20 stitches less than it called for, still way too big!), so I might take it completely out and make a new one. I'm also almost don't making myself a pair of handwarmers with some funky pink and green yarn.
I really want to get into crochet this winter too though. I have hooks and I kinda know how to do it, enough to make little flowers and stuff, but I want to make a cool lap blanket kinda thing and it will be SO MUCH simpler to crochet it rather than knit. I need to look into simple patterns that aren't too lacy looking.
Ok, time to go enjoy the day, the weather is PERFECT today!
