After work today, Blair and I went downtown to go see one of our friends in a play for the Fringe Festival, only to find out it was sold out. We were down at Bathurst and Adelaide. We walked along queen street, enjoying the beautiful hot, and not too humid weather, looking for a place to grab some beer. We stumbled upon Style In Progress, a graffiti artist festival taking place in the back alleys of Queen west. (

There has always been great graffiti in that part of the city, and i find it interesting that the city welcomes it. I know that Queen West is the cultural central of Toronto, but i figure the city would have some issues. There's are signs on a few of the buildings back there that say "Artists Welcomed". I'll go down there sometime later with my camera.
I always wanted to learn how to tag. I probably don't have the artistic talent, and i definitely don't have the abstract eye. And i don't know how to draw with spray paint either. I wish i had my camera. I hate using the camera on my phone. It was a sweet little fine and made missing the play not feel like a waste.
We ended up at Milestones. Amanda and Graham came and joined us for dinner. It was a beautiful day for drinks and dinner on a patio, downtown.
