Summer!
The right click on my laptop is broken. Damn me for rewatching Lost Season 1 while cooking dinner and skipping commercials with wet fingers. Grr, I wanted to steal some pics from my sister's myspace to upload, but I can't remember how to do it without right clicking. Pfft. Later then.
Trey and I had some fun on the 4th. We went for a ride on the trails of the Illahee Preserve in East Bremerton and I actually did well riding the trails. I rode through some scratchy stuff and now my shins look like a cat fight, but I'm otherwise unscathed. I went down a HUGE hill covered in marble-sized rocks and I braked by instinct and my back tire swung forward to say, "Hello, Faceplant!" Luckily I bailed at the last moment and Trey praised my swift reaction. I probably would've stopped for the day if I had totally ate it right there.
While I was writing that last sentence, I wrote "ate tit" and almost left it that way. Proofreading once again saves me from embarrassment!
After the ride, Trey ran errands and I nibbled on fruit and veggies all day to save our appetites for an awesome dinner. We ate pork chops from the grill, steamed broccoli, wheat penne and pesto and shared a slice of tiramisu from the Safeway deli. We watched Jaws, then packed up a picnic blanket and a flask of Jameson and walked to the waterfront to see the fireworks. All of the rez fireworks stands in this town resulted in MASSIVE amateur shows to entertain along the way. One group partying at a Port Orchard beach house actually outshined the city display; they easily blew up $10,000 worth of fireworks in five minutes.
Now we're getting ready to head to Poulsbo to grab lunch, check out the downtown and walk some of the awesome trails there. Then a fellow nuclear engineering friend is have a barbecue at his place. I fucking live for the summer weekends.
