Author's Note/Disclaimer: This was written for
ajzkitten69, who wanted a George/Mason romance, based around the prompt: "In the instant he kissed her, everything changed."
The moment Mason kissed her, George could feel the world shifting. She felt like some sort of secret had been revealed that made the world a happy place, somewhere she actually wanted to live. She didn't want to let go of him as he pulled away, but she did. She wasn't used to this kind of greatness, this kind of peace settling inside of her. Every time she had something close to this great, it disappeared.
She wasn't too surprised when nothing came of it, when Mason went back to his Daisy's amazing view on life, constantly talking about her and obsessing over her. The smell of her perfume, the colour of her lipstick, the curve of her smile. George was surprised, though, at how much it hurt to find out that, to Mason, she was just another kiss, just another lapse of judgment. She was safe, boring; Daisy was the one on the pedestal.
