Bike

When I lived in Seattle, I had a bike. Looking back on it now, I realize that I didn't particularly like this bike. It was heavy, and maroon. (Maroon is not a color that appeals to me.) The handlebars were low, so I had to hunch over, and braking eventually required me to wear wrist braces to avoid pain. It had an unintuitive gear shifter and (I think) 18 speeds (which would be about 17 more than I would have preferred). At one point, my landlord would helpfully stash it by hanging it from the garage ceiling. I don't think he ever quite believed me when I said that I had trouble getting it down. I left that bike in Seattle.

Lately, I started thinking about getting a bike again. Ideally, it would be similar to the first bike I had, when I was about 9 or 10. This bike had coaster brakes and exactly one speed. Even though it was pink, it got me where I needed to go. This is the kind of bike that I want.
