As of now, having just come back from physical therapy, I don't have a problem with my shoulder (as per the orthopedic surgeon I saw yesterday). No, I have a problem with my scapula. Of course, just about every muscle used to move your arm attaches to your scapula, ergo by proxy I have a shoulder and neck problem. Not like "OMG! MY NECK AND SHOULDER ARE GOING TO DIE!!!11!!!111!1!!!!" Just a "Well, my scapula is screwed up, so now my neck and shoulder are overcompensating and hurting themselves. Yay?"
After 4 weeks of physical therapy, I'm going back to Dr. MacDermott. He'll either say "Wow, that PT voodoo magic really helped" or he'll say "Snap, that PT voodoo magic did nothing for you. Ultra sound time!" Either way, my response will probably be a less than enthused "Yay." Happily, though, my shoulder is taped (more correctly this time). So now I can point to it and be all like "YES! There is a problem, and I have the medical tape to prove it!" A lot of people seem to think that just because I'm not, oh, spurting bloody by the gallons I'm fine. Yeah, no.
Hopefully, with the tape, people will leave me alone and won't touch me. I keep getting people patting me on the back (which only started happening after my shoulder started dying, go figure), so I'm expecting that, today, they'll leave my body alone.
Thank God tomorrow is Friday and that the day after is Saturday.
