Really?...Really???
I've recently noticed that a lot of otherwise progressively-minded people are considering voting for Republicans. This blows my mind. Both parties have generally been taken over by corporate interests, but the Republicans are much worse. AND most of them are against things like GLBT rights, reproductive rights, social programs, and environmental protection. Just because the current administration isn't as good as we had hoped they'd be does NOT justify relying on the people who started this mess. It is simply counterproductive. Don't you realize that our system began to be royally fucked up because of Reagan's policies? It's been going downhill since then and we need to stop this trend. Contrary to what you hear in much of the mainstream media, the populace of the U.S. is actually going more and more to the left, while Washington is pulling to the right. To encourage the current administration to be more progressive, we need to support progressive candidates. If one isn't available, for goodness sake, don't give your vote to extreme corporatists and neo-cons. Doing so sends the wrong message to Washington.
