Hmmmm...

Today the check engine light came on in the new-ish car. Who knows. I emailed the previous owner about it to see if it is an ongoing oddity (because I seem to remember him mentioning that), or a new problem. Windshield will be $145 to replace, not as bad as I expected. Could stand to have an oil change as well. AND, god knows it needs to be cleaned ( Read more... )

Okay, I have this *thing* about cell phone usage and cars. They did a study and found that drivers who use cell phones did WORSE on the driving tests than those who were .8 over the legal alcohol limit to drive. That's like ten times the legal amount of drinkipoo. Not only that but my brother-in-law, Terry, died a year and a half ago from a brain tumor. He was 43. His cancer doc said he is seeing more and more of this kind of tumor in young patients who use their cell phones alot. So, please, for my peace of mind, if you do get a cell phone tell me what kind and I'll find you a handless headset for it. I neither want you to die in a fiery crash, or in some cancer hostel. Okay? Okay. /mom rant

I would never use it while driving, but in case it breaks down, or something like that. I hate people who drive and talk on phones. It really pisses me off!

Well, ANYONE must be a safer driver than someone I know who drives Primarily with her knees even in curves, changing lanes(the turn signal is ONLY used in designated turn lanes, not when it would be useful), and entering and exiting the freeway. All the while, if alone, has the phone GLUED to her ear AND constantly playing DJ with CD changes, multiple track changes requiring reading the LCD display, flipping through radio stations after every song like channel surfing AND she notices EVERY billboard in town while owning a VERY lead foot... How she's survived this long is beyond me.

Who on earth are you referring to? Surely not Jess. I thought her to be a rather timid driver, or at least a more defensive styled one. More importantly, what does this speed-racer drive so I can avoid said car should I come upon it on my visits?
