"Hurry tell him" Daiki nudged Chinen. Chinen looked at Daiki and shocked his head.
"Quickly! He ought to know!" Daiki said in a hurried whisper and pushed Chinen towards Ryutaro.
"Ryu-ryu-chan…" Chinen stammered over his words.
"Nani?" Ryutaro looked up from the book he was reading. He rubbed his eye, tired from all the reading.
"Erhh…how's study?" Chinen whispered again. Daiki shocked his head across the table and moved closer.
"Fine i guess…taking a break now…" Ryutaro waved the book in his hand.
Chinen stared at it and remained silent.
"Chii!" Daiki whispered loudly over, looking around to check if he accidentally disturbed anyone in the library. Chinen shifted his his weight on his feet.
"Ryutaro, i've got something important to tell you…"
"Go ahead…" Ryutaro looked at Chinen and waved his hand, puzzled as to why Chinen just called him by his name and not the usual 'Ryu-chan'.
"Anoo…" Chinen fidgeted with his fingers. Daiki walked over and knocked his head. Ryutaro looked at them, still confused.
Slowly, Chinen took out a book from his bag. Or at least it looked like a book. It had a leather cover anyways. Ryutaro turned his attention to the book.
"Anoo…We thought you oughted to know…Yamada…" Chinen paused and Ryutaro, upon hearing that name, moved closer to Chinen.
"Urgh say it already!" Daiki shook Chinen's arm.
"Say it yourself then! It's hard!" Chinen turned and scowled at Daiki.
"What-is-it!?" Ryutaro whispered impatiently.
"Actually…Yamada….left for America this morning….." Chinen said slowly.
"WHAT!?" Ryutaro jumped up from his chair and attracted stares from all around. Chinen and Daiki pushed him down onto his sit and placed their fingers on their lips, signaling him to be quiet.
"what what what how come i didn't know about this! No this is not happening i just saw yamada-sempai yesterday no why did he LEAVE WITHOUT A WORD!"
"SHHHH!" a girl from the opposite gave a death glare to Ryutaro.
"He…left with a book for you." Chinen said, slowly passing the book to Ryutaro.
"More like his diary…" Daiki added.
Ryutaro glared at the both of them and snatched Yamada's diary from Chinen's hand. Frustrated and confused at the same time, Ryutaro packed his bag and left for home, leaving two speechless Sempais behind.
Ryutaro stormed up the room and slammed the door behind him. Throwing Yamada's diary onto his table, he flopped onto his bed and heaved a sigh. Slowly, a tear trickled down the side of his face.
Why, why didn't he tell me he was leaving? He left without an explanation. Yamada….
Ryutaro looked up at the ceiling and closed his eye. He thought of the days he spend with Yamada. Not much. Nothing much either. But the thoughts of Yamada's smile flashed across his mind, making him open his eye again. Sitting up and wiping the tears away, Ryutaro looked at the diary on his table, half opened. Getting off his bed, he walked towards his bed and stared at the diary.
Why did Yamada pass me his diary? Ryutaro sat down and stared at the diary. Reaching out, he flipped a few pages to the front and started reading.
Chinen and Daiki got together today. Felt as though my heart shattered into a million pieces. Why? Why must they do this today. Do they even bother about my feelings???
Ryutaro looked at the page, the words were smudged, probably from the tears that were falling down Yamada's face. Flipping to the next page he continued.
Met a really disgusting guy today. He's tall and was really wet. I know it was raining but who in this world is so dumb to leave the house without an umbrella. Hello! Its the raining season now. And that Baka! He sneezed without covering his mouth. Chii even lent him his hanky. What is happening to this world! Ewww i really don't like that guy, i better not see him again.
Ryutaro let out a laugh knowing that Yamada was actually talking about him.
Goddness me, that guy's in our school! Met him in the canteen today. Who did he think he was!? Talking to me and giving me the "Hey look here, im taller than you" IM HIS SEMPAI! Chii invited him to join the dance club. Thanks Chii, you're really so kind eh? Then why don't you give Daiki to me??? AH, but now that that guy's in the dance club, i can start to torture him. Ah, his name is Morimoto Ryutaro….
Ryutaro looked at the bottom of the page and saw doodles by Yamada. A guy holding a knife and stabbing into into a taller boy, who Ryutaro expects is him. Ryutaro laughed again.
He really hated me nehh.
The next few pages were about how Yamada 'tortured' Ryutaro in dance class. Ryutaro stopped at a particular page, which was crisped, dried from the tears.
Today….i cried on Ryutaro's shoulder. Daiki came back, and i just couldn't….. i couldn't stand the sight of him and Chinen… After lesson, Ryutaro came in, he saw the picture. I pushed him away….i…i didn't mean it.
But then he didn't retaliate. i thought he would…and that moment, i just dropped to the ground. He lent me his shoulder and gave me hug. That moment, i felt that my life changed. Someone actually cared about me.
I could feel the warmth from Ryutaro.
Somehow…i've started to find Ryutaro really nice…
We talked through the night, at the park where the three of us used to hang out. I told him everything. Right now…i really want him as a friend.
Will he want me as a friend?
Ryutaro continued flipping the pages, reading through Yamada's thoughts. He stopped at a particular page, which had words written in korean.
사랑해. was the word that stood out most from the page. It was written in bold in the middle of the page. His name was written all around the page.
Great, you gave me your diary, and you wrote korean inside, what, is that some secret code?
Ryutaro scowled at the page and flipped to the next page. He stopped. In between the pages was his letter. He took away his letter and read that particular entry.
He wrote me a letter today.
How should i tell him that Kaa-san's sending me overseas? How should i tell him that im going to America? I feel so guilty.
He told me not to cry…..
The entry stopped there and Ryutaro stared at the blank spaces beneath the words. He slowly flipped the page.
Ryutaro, im sorry i didn't tell you in advance. Hopefully you'll read this diary from the first page, *im sure you wont*
Gomen, really…gomen, for not telling you earlier. My mother's sending me to America. My dad's working there and she want us to live as a family.
I really wanted to tell you, but i couldn't bring myself to.
Truth is, those korean words you see? 사랑해.
It means "I LOVE YOU"
and right now, i want to tell you, MORIMOTO RYUTARO, I LOVE YOU.
I know its too late. Im sorry that i didn't tell you earlier. Im sorry that im leaving for America. And im sorry, for the love that you've gave me.
I left without a word, because i didn't want you to see the tears flowing down my cheeks as i depart.
But Ryutaro, i promise that you'll always be in my heart, forever in my heart. I won't ask you to wait for my return. But please, lead a happy life. Don't shed those tears for me, shed those tears for your happiness.

Tears fell from Ryutaro's eyes as he looked at the letter he wrote, recalling the little card that he had wrote for Yamada. The card was small enough to fit into Yamada's wallet, and that was Ryutaro's purpose. Written on it was "Wherever you are, I'll always make you smile. Wherever you are I'm always by your side.Wherever you are, I'll never make you cry" , to remind Yamada that he'll always be there for him.
Closing the diary, Ryutaro leaned back on his chair and heaved another sigh. Yamada was gone, but his love stays. Sitting up again, Ryutaro placed the diary near his chest, wishing Yamada well.
A/N: Sorry guys, im drained. gahh. wrote my one shot and this morning. and nobody read it. and i really tried my best to squeeze out this chapter. i seriously don't know what im writing also :( GOMEN. I hope you guys like it.
This fic has been...so teary. Same situation that i had through these few weeks. So yeah, i guess i really wrote it based on my mood nehh. My final test is coming up as well.
