I'm a bad lj-er.
Friday I called Tawnie from the Carmel hospital. I did an incredible interview with her, but still was nervous. My Castleton interview was bombed and I didn't click with the dude at all. I also haven't received a call back from him, so even though people were telling me that I might be surprised I'm not surprised. I have good intuition about such things. I also had bad vibes the whole day I interviewed in Castleton, things just weren't falling together like they did with the Carmel interview and I wasn't in a good head space for it. Besides, the guy was kind of a prick and had bad tattoos. It was cool that he could have visible tattoos but they were UGLY :p
I called Tawnie from Wild Magick. Mel was lovely enough to allow me to borrow the cell phone. First call she hadn't spoken to her superiors as of yet so I had to call back either later that night or the next day. Since I didn't want to spend the night worrying, I called her later that night. I had been hired on!! It's a lower hourly wage than I was hoping but still more than I make at United Art and Education after a whole year. And selling Wellness plans (which I'm expecting to kind of dread the pushing of those but you have to do what you have to do) will raise said hourly wages an average of $.50/hour. So it will be much higher when that is taken into effect.
I met the Carmel staff and know I will love working with everyone there. I was told they all get along really well and like to have fun at the job. They are all giggly fun loving girls and Dr. Mercer seems awesome. She stays to help finish things up even though she is salary and can leave as soon as close. She is incredibly nice and I was told they were very happy I was joining their team. One of the girls had her dog Honky Tonk there. Honky Tonk is a corgi or corgi mix of some form and was happily shaking his butt. It was fun to see them during close allow Honky Tonk to walk around the back room as they did their closing duties. I can tell working at a job where animals are involved is going to be awesome.
I recieve three Wellness plans as part of my incentive. This includes free vet visits, free dentals, free shots, etc for probably all of my kitties. I would rather have Inanna on it and two of the ferrets paying for the other if I could but I don't think they allow ferrets on the wellness plan. I will probably end up paying for whatever others out of the pocket but will recieve 20% off. I also receive a 15% Petsmart discount. I will have vacation days and medical benefits along with many others. I have no idea what it is like to receive benefits as it has never happened in my former occupations.
I will more than likely be working 3.5 days a week with long shifts on the three days and a half shift on the .5 day of course. I have a feeling I will like this schedule as it will allow for more home time overall. My only worry right now is waiting out hours on my half day for Chris to come pick me up. We hope to obtain a vehicle for me (a cheap cheap wrecker that will get me to and from work) but I may have to wait a week or two until that is possible depending on how lucky we are.
That's my job, more on pee test and Wild Magick later.
