Pan's guide to her animals

I think this is needed as reference for those who care :) In no particular order.

Cats
1.Nabikki (A.K.A Bikki)- Age 7ish -Spayed (duh) Female Tortoiseshell. Originally Chris's but she prefers me. Neurotic with skin issues (occasional flair ups of lick dermatitis). Very sweet, cuddly and squishy but also very skittish and hates change. Also hates Pele with a vengeance. Doesn't mind ferrets much at all (then again all of our cats have learned to love them or at least tolerate them). Can't be in the same room as Pele without a fight!

2.Inanna (A.K.A Nanna) - Age 6 - Spayed Female Grey with green eyes that change. Originally my cat and prefers me :) My personal lap warmer who loves to sit on sketch books especially if I'm about to sketch. Very healthy with occasional ear infections and seems to faster tarter build up then the other cats. Kind of chubby but not to an unhealthy extent (like Bikki). Very soft, my little princess. Loves her belly rubbed and loves to give kisses. Also loves to dig her claws into me when I pet her and cuddle her. Hence my need to wear a blanket when I'm at the computer :) Gets along with all cats and tends to be the peacekeeper in the cat world (Unless she is somehow caught in the middle of things). Pound kitty.

3. Pele- Age 12 or 13 - Spayed Female Medium hair Polydactyl Tortoiseshell (looks part Maine Coon perhaps?)- Chris's baby. She prefers Chris over me but seems to love us equally at times. She is bed cat and will tell us when it is bed time. No health problems to note and even her teeth are pretty good for an older cat. Very healthy weight even at 13lbs. She's a big girl.

Ferrets
4. Lugh (pronounced Lou for those of you that do not know how to pronounce Lugh) - Age 8 - Neutered Male Champaign (or Cinnamon?) . Both ferrets are originally mine but Chris loves them as well. Lugh was my first personal pet (along with Gidgett R.I.P). Not doing well lately with adrenal disease but hopefully we can remedy that. Still full of spunk for an old man.

5. Spazz- Age 5- Spayed female Sable mitt. Loves to nip on feet if not given enough attention. Very playful and energetic. A very petite ferret who can fit in one hand.LOVES human attention and interaction. Also loves to hoard chewy rubbery things

Rats
6. Dustin- Age 1- Neutered Silver Agouti Odd eyed Dumbo- Was cage aggressive which is why he was neutered. Now he's a sweety if not somewhat shy and anxious. Hasn't bitten since the neuter . Loves to hoard the food and run up and down the levels to do so making a racket at night. Rescued from my crazy animal hoarding aunt who neglected him and another rat with severe lice infestation. Sadly the other rat died a couple of months after rescue but Dustin still survives.

7. Sigmund- Age 1- Pink Eye White (or PEW) male- Very sweet ex lab rat. Lick monster and loverboy. Chris's favorite rat. Very cuddly and very squishy. Occasional respiratory problems. Very playful and makes a very nice jail face at you when you enter the room. Adopted from a ex coworker after she was done with her science experiment. It's a good thing she didn't tell me of the others still needing homes, I would have a mischief of PEW's!

Misc.
8. Mister Simon- Age 1.5-2?- Golden Syrian male hamster- Loves the wheel and is the friendliest hamster you would ever meet. Loves human interaction and his ball as well as the occasional baby carrot. Found abandoned outside previous apartment complex. Tried for a short time to find a home but became too attached. We didn't have a name for him for the longest time so I just called him Mister. Finally we watched a Firefly episode where Simon mentioned he only had a hamster named after him so we named him Simon.

9. Würm- Age 23ish- Common Cornasnake- Very nice good disposition snake. Chris's snake. I'm not a herp person. He eats frozen thawed! That's all thanks to me. I warned Chris I might have to steal a mouse from him and keep it someday. That and the worry of the mouse biting the snake and causing infection made him try the frozen thawed method. Würm loves them. Chris adopted him from a friend.

RIP

BOB- The betta. I seriously loved this fish. I was a bad fish caretaker and he passed on after a few months of living with me. I cried and will not take care of fish to this day.

Gidgett- Passed right after she turned 8- Spayed ferret who succumbed to aggressive cancer. She was my special ferret, the one who always looked at me with THOSE eyes. She seemed to understand me the most. We had a huge connection and it was hard to let her go. I still cry when I think of her, she was a very sweet girl. Rotund, playful, loving, caring. She was the motherly one of the ferret trio.

Joshu- Passed at 8 months. My first rat gained and first rat lost. Rescued from my dad's feeder bin when he came to visit. He just shined. Passed due to a bad internal tumor causing him to not be able to breathe at an all too young age. He only wanted to be with me all the time and passed in my arms.

Odin- Passed at 1 year. Second rat and second rat to pass. He was called Odin as he was missing one eye. Passed due to respiratory problems

Petey- Passed at 23 months. Rat rescued from aunt along with Dustin. A very sweet Siamese boy. He was a beautiful rat and I so regret not rescueing him sooner as I could of had more time with him. He loved being held, cuddled and played with. He was starting to look at me with those eyes, then a bad veterinarian prescribed the wrong thing for him that took his life (and several hundred dollars). I would do anything to have more time with this rat. I cry when I think of what was stolen from me. Two months was NOT long enough and it is even more upsetting that it could of been longer if not prescribed the wrong medications.

Hobbes- Passed at 23 months. Rat adopted from someone in Michigan. Had horrible respiratory problems fought off by medication for close to a year. We had done everything. This rat had the most fighting spirit I had ever seen. When I thought it was time he would keep bouncing rat back up. Finally we had to put him to sleep as his condition was getting worse. He had fought chronic respiratory for a year before this happened. Malnourished at a young age for unknown reason. He was a lover and was allowed free range of the apartment for many of his last months.

Bert- Another heart rat. My first naked. Passed at 22 months due to chronic respiratory disease. Always came when I called, always lit up when I called his name. Had a special spark about him. Was grumpy at times to other rats and a severe alpha. He ruled the cage because he was closer to humans then the other fur folk. The best finger groomer ever. I wanted him to live forever and cried telling him that. I think he wanted to try hard to oblige. Fought pneumonia and chronic respiratory for 4 hard months before we had to put him to sleep because he could no longer breathe air. He was swallowing it :( I miss him so hard it hurts. He was very special to me and just had that look to him. To me he was a child (all of my animals are my children but there was something about Bert I can not quite put my finger on). All the vets office cried when they learned of his passing, everyone loved and looked forward to seeing Bert. He was a strong fighter.

Bastian- 28 months- Dumbo black mask rat- Died a couple of days before Bert in his sleep. I think he knew it was Bert's time and had to go with him. Sweet lick monster. Had to be licking you if you were near. Loved all rats. The buddha of the rat world. Very fat. My first rat to escape his cage (when he was smaller).

Morgan- Passed at 23 months- Lived with Hobbes, went down hill after he passed on. Died of chronic respiratory disease and also had hind end degeneration. His hind end gave out, he couldn't breathe and I didn't think it was fair to fight it anymore. He lost his spark when Hobbes passed as he always lived with Hobbes. A lick monster in his last months. An adventurer who aparently was shy to his first mom but outgoing and a huge alpha to me. Hated all other rats besides Hobbes.
