WTF?

Why is it the only part of a song to get stuck in my head is the part that grates on my nerves? Right now I have the lines from Blue Scholars "Inkwell" stuck in my head. Specifically the lines proceeding to the line where they misuse "irony." DOn't get me wrong I like Blue Scholars and I really like that song 'cause it's about my town's music history and all but every time I hear a line a little piece of me dies. Specifically the english major in me.
I cringe when I hear it: "We called ourselves ‘Phase’ and ironically it was"
I mean, I know what they mean but the word sould be "prophetically" not "ironically"
If they called themselves "The Hip Hop Group From Seattle That Shall Last a Lifetime" and it turns out to be short lived, then it would be ironic becasue it would be contrary to what it says/leads one to belive.
Surely if you call yourself "phase" and that turns out to be the case than it's a prophetic title, not ironic.

Just had to rant.

It's still stuck in my head though.

wtf, music, seattle
