Why is it that so many people who are Pagan seem to think that requires them to be weird to an unnatural point? I mean, I understand that Paganism and such attract a different crowd, but that doesn't mean you have to talk like you're from the seventeenth century ( Read more... )

Is there a Pagan dress code? Does it say that you must wear your festival garb everywhere you go, particularly when no one else is wearing period clothing? Let's get a grip here. There's a reason it's called festival garb. You wear it to a festival. That's it. Not to go shopping in or parade the town. It's like wearing a big honking neon sign that says, "Yoohoo, m'lords and m'ladies! I'm Pagan. Or trying really fucking hard to be. Does it work? Does it work? Huh? Huh? Huh?"

Don't go getting the idea that I hate all Pagan people. I don't. Just the stupid ones. And just because someone may do a few of these things on occasion doesn't mean I hate them either. But I will admit that it does significantly increase the possibility.
And no, I have not stopped being Pagan.
