My confidence in the DC Reboot is waning fast
Lookie here. For those of you too scared to look (and I don't blame you, really), basically everything I ever loved about Superman is being erased. His parents still being alive. His stupid, stupid costume. His close ties with and understanding of humanity. His optimistic disposition. All of it, gone.
Oh, yeah, and did I mention he isn't married to Lois anymore and never was? I'm kind of stuck in the Silver Age when it comes to Lois and Clark's relationship and, personally, wouldn't mind seeing them flirt/tease back and forth without them actually being married. I'd be cool with that. BUT they're having Lois date someone else at the Daily Planet right now (for the love of Rao, if it is Jimmy or Perry, I will hurt them), so that counts that out, unless Lois is a cheater, and I don't want that either. Plus, I know many, many people were fans of the Super-marriage and are furious over the fact that it is going the way of Peter and MJ, and rightfully so. Unless it's something irredeemably bad like Cry for Justice, you can't just go around retconning whatever you want and not expect a massive backlash. So just for that alone, the utter dismissal of the Clark/Lois relationship (probably so Supes can go sleep with Wonder Woman *tch*) makes me mad.
Aside from that, look closely at Superman's new characterization. He is a broody bachelor with dead parents, a costume that's mostly armor, and a bit of a disconnect from the rest of the human population. YES, DC, we KNOW Batman makes you truckloads of money, but WE DON'T WANT EVERY CHARACTER TO BE BATMAN. BECAUSE THAT'S BORING. It's okay to have some bright and peppy characters once in a while too. And by the by, why does Superman have to "adjust" to Earth when he has LIVED HERE HIS ENTIRE LIFE? >_< Think, people, think!!!
Really, now. All those bonus points you racked up by making Dick Nightwing and giving Roy his arm back? Are now gone. One more stupid decision out of you and I'm sending you to your room without dessert.
On the other hand, reviving Lian would qualify you for automatic forgiveness for everything and then some. So get cracking.
